ATT Samsung Galaxy S3 support for LTE Band 2 and LTE Band 5 topic

The ATT Samsung Galaxy S3(I747) has the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 plus MSM 8960 processor. The Qualcomm MSM 8960 is capable of supporting LTE band 17, Band 4(AWS), Band 2 and Band 5. ATT has now launched Band 2 in NYC and Band 5 in the Midwest.

The S3 only supports LTE Band 17 and LTE Band 4(AWS).

Q1. Is there firmware that will make this device support LTE band2 and LTE band 5?

Q2. Is there a SW to make VOLTE calls using the S3?

I am looking to unlock LTE band 2 and LTE band 5 on my ATT GS3.

Thanks in advance,

[Q] 64gb card support in 4.1.2 topic

Hello,
I am using xperia zl 4.1.2, rooted since few months, I want to give away this mobile for replacement for ir issue, I am planning to buy 64 gb card, can anyone help me if 4.1.2 supports that? Read in the change log of 4.2.2 that support for 64gb is added, but many claim otherwise. I dont want to update because rooting for 4.2/4.3 requires flashing (doomlord/nuts etc) which I dont want to risk now and I require root access for few important things. Thanks in advance.

Support Request - Network Issues topic

Hello,

I recently purchased an i9305T 2nd hand but I am continually getting network errors with my Vaya (Optus) Sim.

I have not been able to get mobile data to work at all, using various configurations.

I have tried flashing a custom rom (CM Nightlies) and flashed various modem packages but still the same problem. I can send & receive texts and calls for a few mins, but then it comes up with network unavailable and nothing will work.

I'm not sure if the phone is locked, and at one point I figured it was locked so I purchased an unlock code but I can't use it as I am unable to use ANY USSD codes (I have tried heaps) except for the one to check my IMEI (Which is fine).

PLEASE HELP ME!!

Thanks,

[Q] Why AT&T has support for more LTE bands? topic

I was looking at the tech specs for the new HTC One and T-Mobile has less support for LTE bands.
Is it just a matter of HTC referring only to the bands that matter to each carrier or is it actually a question of different radios.
I ask because apparently the Google Play edition follows T-Mobile's hardware (possibly to provide support for both US GSM carriers), and makes it a no deal for international customers that need support to other bands.

[Q] Mtp / usb mass storage support? topic

I'm currently on the latest nightly for s2 i777 i update every day how ever the mtp file transfer over usb constantly disconnects/ freezes randomly it also freezes during file transfers especially for large files like movies and flash-able zip files. i can see the space available but when it is opened it shows up empty, slow loading times and windows gives time out and other failure errors.

Q1. can it be fixed or is one already on the way?
Q2. can the usb mass storage mode be included in the ROM to allow switching between mass storage mtp or ptp?

Much appreciated. Great work omni team.

[Q] Verizon LG G2 GSM Support topic

Hello All,
I have been thinking about traveling to Japan this coming year; I have looked at Verizon's International plan, and it seems like they are very pricey.
I have heard that the VS980 has GSM support, with no LTE, which is fine. I have looked into the h20 network, as they have exceptional prices for their international plan.
I have googled it and have gotten mixed answers, so I came here. I have a h20 sim card, and it pulls the APNs, but does not get any service. Is it that I am using a custom rom?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Looking for OmniROM with Multi Window Support. topic

Hello everyone!

So i am really hoping that someone here can help point me in the right direction...

I just purchased an LTE Nexus 7 2013 32 GB Tablet which is model DEB. Now i have OmniROM for my WiFi only Nexus 7 2013 tablet which is model FLO.

For some reason I can't seem to find the unofficial OmniRom thread on xda for getting OmniROM.

Now I am looking for the OmniROM ROM that has multi-window support, if i remember correctly at the time i installed it on my Nexus 7 FLO tablet the only OmniROM that had mult-window support was an unofficial OmniROM ROM. While doing some looking around xda for the OmniROM thread I think I may have read that the official OmniROM ROM now has multi-window support.

Can anyone confirm if the official OmniROM ROM does in fact have multi-window support?

Again, if anyone can provide me with a link to the xda thread for OmniROM for the Nexus 7 Model DEB tablet i would really appreciate it.

Thank you all again for your help and support.

[Help] Lua Crash and Error Support topic

Ok folks, with all the problems people seem to be having with LUA, I'm going to offer my help when I get the time. This topic will be dedicated to those with problems with their lua scripts be it the Pirate Perfection Trainer or custom ones. I can't promise I will be able to help everyone but I'll try to offer some insight. Remember folks, I have a full time job. So please be patient when asking for help!

If you want to offer aid to someone, please be respectful and please make sure you are knowledgeable of the problem. If posting code fixes, please test them out first and make sure they are functional before releasing them.

Some guidelines:
  • One post per problem

  • Be Patient

  • Check previous posts for similar problems and try not to problems already posted

  • Keep it brief but descriptive

  • If posting code or error logs longer than three or so lines, wrap them in the [code] tag

  • Post in English

  • Do not go off topic, keep to the problem reports

  • If you need to include more information about a problem, edit your original post, don't create a new one

  • When your problem is fixed, edit your post with FIXED some where that can easily be see.

Now with the guidelines out of the way, please post this information when you are reporting a crash or lua error:
Operating System:
IPHLPAPI Version:
PPT Version (If Applicable):
------
Crash Log (If Applicable):
-You can find the crash log in your AppData/Local/Payday2 folder as crash.txt
Path to file: %appdata%\..\Local\PAYDAY 2\crash.txt
Make sure you post this in a [code] tag
------
IPHLPAPI Console Error (If Applicable):
-Any error you receieve in the console window that opens up when you start the game. Make sure if longer than three lines, you use a [code] tag
------
Problem Code (If Applicable):
-Only include your problem code if you are using an edited version of the PPT trainer (If you modified the code in question) or if the problem you are having is from code not from the Pirate Perfection Trainer.
-Always wrap the code in a [code] tag. If the piece of code is longer than 20 or so lines. Post the code to an online paste bin like http://pastebin.com/ and post the link to it here.

--------------------------------------------------
That's it for now, I will update this post as needed. Hope this helps some people.

[Q] USB dongle support? Voice Calling with USB Dongle? topic

Hi people :)
So I bought the tegra note 7 recently, before discovering that a 4G LTE version was on the way. So I wanted to know if there was any way to make voice calls with this tablet using an external USB dongle and my sim. My USB OTG cable is in transit as of now so I'm not sure even if the tablet supports external dongles.
Any and all help is appreciated.

P.S. this is my first thread post here. (and I'm not very smart with such stuff)
Plz help.

[Q] UDF support in ROMs or Kernels? topic

I'm wondering if any ROM or Kernel developers have the UDF filesystem on their radar yet?
With larger sized SD-Card support and of course USB OTG support for USB sticks, hard drives etc, the quest for an optimal file system comes back to haunt us. There has always been a problem with external storage for cross platform users. Finding a file system that meets all the following criteria is very difficult as a good file system must:
- Be supported natively by all Operating Systems you use
IE. Windows, Mac, Linux and now Android
- Support large partition sizes
- Support large file sizes ( larger than 4GB files aren't so uncommon anymore which puts FAT out of the running)

Recently I came across the suggestion to use UDF as it meets all the above criteria. (see http://tanguy.ortolo.eu/blog/article93/usb-udf for an example)

I tested this idea with a USB stick and sure enough it was plug-n-play on Windows and Linux (and I assume Mac) but I was disappointed when I plugged it into my phone and tablet using USB OTG and USB.

I don't think there's any technical reason Android can't support UDF, rather no one has really thought to build the module and tools into their ROM or Kernel package.

I'd like to suggest that UDF be added as a standard module for ROM builders, along with NTFS, exFAT, ext 2/3 etc.as it would really give Android device customizers another really useful capability not available elsewhere. I'm especially thinking of people that carry around a lot of files on one USB stick that they use on multiple platforms. Like sysadmins, Movie buffs, business travelers, etc.
