For everyone who is not familiar with the voting process, here are some notes on how the MotM vote works:
  • The significance of the Member of the Month award is as follows:

    Quote:

The UC Member of the Month award is a prestigious award given to a single community member on a monthly basis. Based on a vote from community members, the award is given to the forum member that has shown exemplary achievement and potential in the UnKnoWnCheaTs community, and has shown great commitment to upholding the principles upon which UnKnoWnCheaTs stands for. A member who has been awarded the Member of the Month award has been distinguished as an asset to the UnKnoWnCheaTs community.

  • Nominations are done the second to last week of the month, and voting is done on the last week of every month, there are 7 days to nominate and 7 days to vote. Nominations are handled publicly and any forum member is free to nominate a fellow member for the award. You cannot nominate yourself for the award. You cannot nominate a staff member for the award. You cannot nominate the current MotM for the award.

  • Vote percentage totals are calculated on a weighted scale, with Registered - Level 1 members having a weight of 1, and Registered - Level 2 and above members having a weight of 2. Therefore, it is possible for nominees to have an equal amount of votes yet have different weighted percentages based on the rank of those who voted for the nominee.

  • Voting is anonymous, and the vote tally will not be made public until the end of the month when voting is over. This is to enforce honest voting and so that the MotM winner will remain anonymous until the end of the month.

Good luck to everyone who was nominated, and let the voting begin!

[Q] Following month and previous month dates topic

Hi, I am trying to create a Progress Bar to indicate where I am in the billing cycle of my phone plan.

Since my billing cycle starts on the 17th of every month, I want to set the Min Value as the current or previous 17th on the calendar and the coming 16th (of this/next month) as the Max Value of the progress bar. Does anyone know how I would call these dates? I've been reading through this forum and the one at zooper.themerapp.com and am still stumped at this problem.

Thanks in advance

[Q] Looking into buying the Nexus 5 next month... topic

Hey guys,

I'm looking into buying the Nexus 5 as I feel like I want a much faster and more responsive Android experience and I also want to get a phone that is very well supported by the developers of XDA...

I have had both of the following handsets previously:
-HTC Wildfire(Buzz)
-HTC One V(PrimoU)

My biggest complaints about my previous handsets are that the Android experience is very slow, sloppy and HTC Sense'd meaning that to get an acceptable level of performance out of them they had to be rooted and flashed with 'close to Google' ROMs and because of the lack of developers that were interested in these devices they were relatively unstable even with their best ROMs.

My real question is pointed at users who currently have a Nexus 5 and had a relatively comparable phone to the HTC Wildfire or HTC One V, am I making the right move (based on what I've said) to buy the Nexus 5 and do you think that it's worth its money or are there better phones available in your opinion?
