It's been one year. I love this phone.. best ever and now with recent updates and development, even better. But one year is a long time. A year ago this was the latest and greatest.. now I'd like to see a better screen, faster processor, definitely a MUCH better camera & 4K Video.. at least. Sony is starting to fall behind on camera matters and that makes no sense.. Sony makes some of the best cameras and sensors in the world.. but the iPhone camera overall is better and cleaner, Nokia is totally kicking butt and Samsung's new sensor technologies starting with the S5 and future phones is serious stuff. The Z Ultra camera is at best OK from 3 years ago standards and the Z1's was a disappointment while the Z2's is yet to be taken for a good ride but seems just a tweaked firmware version of the same hardware.. I don't hear any rumours of a possible successor for the Z Ultra. I wonder when and what Sony will come out with to better this phone just as they've done with the Z2. The Z2 is definitely not revolutionary, just incremental. But that's enough.. improving a great product is a great way to go.

[Q] Help me decide my next phone! topic
Hello guys,
I've been searching recently to decide which phone will be my next phone in 2 months. The parameters for me to decide are, I keep the phone at least few years like my current SGS2 phone and I need it to stay above average. I know I may see better for next 6 months or so but I want to decide in this period. Money is not a factor.
I've been reading about new Knox for SGS5 and every poll in other websites I've read was saying they are not going to buy or they are not interested and disappointed!
I also read about another Galaxy S 5 named F series or Galaxy Prime! It's the same as Galaxy S 5 but with better specs and metal unibody!
I stuck to choose between these:
I also created a poll for the ones who are lazy to answer. :D
Any response, opinions are welcomed.:good:
Thank you.

[Q] Root while on AT&T Next? topic
So I ordered this phone yesterday and I want to try some custom roms on it but I don't know if rooting while on Next would be a safe idea. I'm positive i can root and flash a rom with no problems but if i wanna switch phones in 8 months will I still be able to?
If it just needs to be the way they shipped it, will flashing a stock rom and un-rooting do the trick?
Thank you all in advance, and keep up the great work. Happy rooting. :highfive:

[Q] Kitkat AOSB -> No volume buttons not working while in Next Launcher topic
Hello, my Note 2 was updated to AOSB, latest version with KitKat.
From the update the volume buttons only work when in an app - doesn't matter which one, as long as it's not the Next Launcher.
I use this launcher for quite some time without any problems, but since KitKat these buttons stopped working in the launcher.
Can anyone help me how to enable them again?

Can't update gs4 t-mobile CM 11 to next version topic
So I got a prompt saying there is a system update for my phone, I accepted it.
It simply booted into recovery, started some process and then it said failed.
So then considering it is the installer version I plug it into the installer. This time the screen on my phone looks like I've installed the ROM for the first time. But this time it went to recovery and just sat there. And then on the installer on my computer after a minute it said it couldn't speak to my device.
Using CWM I hit reboot and it says Android apps are updating but after that my phone is exactly how it was before and when I go to settings it says I have an update available.
What does this mean, and how can I fix it? My phone runs the ROM fine but it's not updating. All solutions will be considered

What is next? topic
Hey guys, EVO 4G LTE user here. Got it launch week. Been using Stock with Goodies 2.08 since it was released! Just can't bring myself to update to change the UI so drastically. I love my phone still.
I have been out of the Android/Root community for a while now, maybe a year and a half. What are EVO LTE users looking forward to in the next few months when the EVO LTE contracts go poof?
I really don't want to give up my SD card slot, but I also know SD card slots were being phased out two years ago. I live in a rural area and streaming is not always the best option.
Thanks for any insight and updates.

Encryption Help, Next Step? topic
So i picked up my old S2 yesterday because i was reading about android encryption and thought i could use that to my advantage, well that wasn't the case :(. I was running ReCaulked Jellybean when i started my encryption and when it turned on i couldn't get the keyboard to pop up so i couldnt enter the password. I used odin to flash back to el29 and got root then i re-flashed a different rom and once it loaded up i got the encryption password screen again, this time i could enter my password but for some reason it didn't work. Right now i flashed back to stock rooted el29 and wondering where i should go from here? Do flash a stock JB and try to remove encryption or should i flash another rom and see if it works?

Samsungs Next Launcher/UI topic
Hopefully Samsung are working on a new UI/Launcher as im not a massive fan of TouchWiz and the lack of settings in the launcher. Does anyone know if we'll ever get a new "official" launcher update from Samsung on out Note 3's?

Next phone? topic
Hey guys. So my upgrade will be in March which isn't far away and I'm looking for a new phone. I'm very disappointed with the gs4 on Verizon since the bootloader is locked. Yes, I have safestrap but I love AOSP vs Touchwiz. I've looked up some phones coming out this year such as gs5 and HTC one+ (m8). I really liked the design of the HTC one and wish I bought that over the gs4. Just wondering what you guys would get next. The gs5 or something different since i almost feel like Samsung is following apple's tracks. Also do you even like the gs4? Let me know what you all think..
[Q] Any devices you are going to trade for in the next couple months? topic
I have been thinking about getting the G2 for a little while. I'm with Tmobile and they have it for 0 but I'm wondering if there are any phones coming out in the next couple of months that would be worth waiting for. I have a Nexus 4 and it's been good but I like the G2 because of it's screen size and battery life. The updates on the Nexus are great to have but I think battery life might be more important to me.
Is there a phone coming out soon that you will be getting?

No camera after flashing next kernel on cm10.1.3 topic
Hi guys, I recently flash cm 10.1.3 on my p3113 and when I went to camera it couldn't connect. I know on Kitkat flash proprietary-vendor file fixed this, but when I tried it I could not get past the boot logo. So, how can I yet camera working again?
[Q] Looking into buying the Nexus 5 next month... topic
Hey guys,
I'm looking into buying the Nexus 5 as I feel like I want a much faster and more responsive Android experience and I also want to get a phone that is very well supported by the developers of XDA...
I have had both of the following handsets previously:
-HTC Wildfire(Buzz)
-HTC One V(PrimoU)
My biggest complaints about my previous handsets are that the Android experience is very slow, sloppy and HTC Sense'd meaning that to get an acceptable level of performance out of them they had to be rooted and flashed with 'close to Google' ROMs and because of the lack of developers that were interested in these devices they were relatively unstable even with their best ROMs.
My real question is pointed at users who currently have a Nexus 5 and had a relatively comparable phone to the HTC Wildfire or HTC One V, am I making the right move (based on what I've said) to buy the Nexus 5 and do you think that it's worth its money or are there better phones available in your opinion?
