[Q] Replace software menu buttons topic

I saw on the One M8, the three menu buttons at the bottom are now software buttons. Would it be possible to replace them with a different launcher? Has anyone tried?

I've been breaking my head with the following question:

My responsive buttons stopt working.
It goes better after a factory reset, but then again. No home, back button...

It is a real pain in the *ss.
I don't think it is a hardware problem, more a software problem...

Do you think that if I install a ROM on my device this would clear my problem?

Does anybody has the same problem?
It began shortly after the android update 4.1.1.

Broken buttons topic

Post up if you had a button stop working. I'm just wondering if this is a problem.
My power button stopped working on my first phone after 3 days. That was on a Sunday. On Monday I was taking it in to have it replaced. I'll be danged,I dropped the phone in the parking lot and got a ding in it. So they wouldn't swap it. I paid the deductible and got a new phone.
I did see another post where a guys volume button or buttons stopped working. So it has me wondering if this is a problem.
Post only if they stopped working on their own, not if you dropped it or broke it - but if if they just stopped working on their own.

I used to be able to get many more button options for the nav bar on JellyBean ROMs but I seem to be able to add only the menu or search button to the nav bar on KitKat ROMs. Is there any way to add other buttons or would I have to edit the SystemUI.apk manually?

I'm currently running crDroid simple.
If there are any KitKat ROMs which support adding custom buttons, such as the power button, or apps, I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

[Q] Long Press Home and Back buttons not working topic

For the past few weeks long pressing my home button no longer brings up recent apps and long pressing my back button no longer exits out of Dolphin Browser (it's all I really used that for). I have Nova launcher on, but going back to stock doesn't help. The buttons have also gone from black outline to white and the display option for changing the amount of buttons doesn't do anything. I have been trying to find a solution for this for a few weeks now with no luck.

[Q] Kitkat AOSB -> No volume buttons not working while in Next Launcher topic

Hello, my Note 2 was updated to AOSB, latest version with KitKat.
From the update the volume buttons only work when in an app - doesn't matter which one, as long as it's not the Next Launcher.

I use this launcher for quite some time without any problems, but since KitKat these buttons stopped working in the launcher.

Can anyone help me how to enable them again?

Hello i wanted to kno how to make it so i have 4 on screen buttons on my N5? i want to have back button.. home button.. menu button.. and recent apps button.. im sure there are roms with it but is there like a mob i can use.. because im on cataclsym rom which is the BEST rom i have ever flashed on this phone.. so i do not want to switch really.. if there is not any mods and i have to flash a diff rom.. what rom is close to cataclysm? i do not like CM based roms.. thanks!!!

Capacitive buttons are not working ? topic

:crying: I have HTC One X+ 64gb Telus which is rooted,s-off and boot loader unlocked. I am using Elegancia 6.2.0. I don't know what happened to it. Suddenly Capacitive buttons are not working as light are working. In past it never dropped and I Nevar sit on it. I don't know why it happened. Now i am using LMT launcher from which I am not satisfied and thinking about repairing it. In my city there are no HTC service center but there is a collection point(I don't know what it is??? :rolleyes: ) . I searched about this on Internet and found that it may be problem of Digitizer. So, My questions are:

1. By replacing LCD+Digitizer would solve this problem? If yes, then which variant should I buy SHARP or SONY version? As mine is Telus version.
2. Should I go to Collection Point in my city ?
3. Or should I take risk of doing dis-assembly of it ?
4. Or Should I buy a LCD+Digitizer from internet and do replacement by local mobile repairs?

PS: I bought it 2 months ago from ebay and it doesn't have manufacturer warranty. And sorry for my bad english :(

Problems With Touch Buttons topic

Hello everybody!
I have my Gio almost 2 years. But it's not too long and my touch buttons aren't working well. Sometimes the menu and return button seems pressed and I am unable to unlock my Gio. I must touch them few times, and then I can do something on touchscreen. I've tried many roms, tested it in recovery menu, but it's still the same. :(
I believe I'm not the only one with this problem. If you know anything about this issue, please write it down and share to everyone :)

As i describe, phone is in bootloop and both of the volume keys are not working. I can't get into CWM. I tried fastboot but, i can't do anything in there because of broken buttons. How can i save the phone?

Lock screen buttons stuck on navigation bar topic

So... After 30 minutes of use. The little lock screen arrow and camera buttons appear on the navigation bar. Can't use home or back. Have to reboot.

Any ideas?

Rooted Dev edition. 4.4.2

Everything else works 100% fine

Using xposed and gravity box. Just removed it to test.

Any one run into this?

Hi I just updated to 4.2.2 and have noticed that the menu and back buttons flash every so often , anyone else have this , and aso seen that there is a file called emulatedwith 2 items in it a - file called O or 0 with a size of 5,65GB
and a file called legacy with 84 items in it with a size of 5,65 GB

Back & Menu buttons not working, nor keyboard topic

I'm really hoping someone can help me. My back and menu buttons stopped working today, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with a failed Swype install.

I'm running AOKP 4.4.2 (1/25 build) on my VZW Galaxy S4 (jfltevzw). The phone has been running great, but I can't stand the new kitkat keyboard. I decided to try Swype again, after dumping it a few years back.

I installed the free Swype (which obnoxiously comes with Dragon also), but I couldn't get past step two (select default keyboard). The wizard just wouldn't progress further. I went into the menu to try switch manually, but I trying to type would just bring up the installer again. I tried switching back to the stock keyboard via Settings>Language, but nothing would happen when I tried to type. The only thing I could do was reboot.

When I booted back up, the menu and back buttons would no longer work. I tried clearing dalvik and cache, resetting permissions, reinstalling AOKP and Gapps, and so on and so forth. I'm backing everything up to do a hard wipe, but I'm not holding my breath.

Has anyone seen this problem before? Is it failing during the Swype install just coincidence? I can't see how it could be....

[Q] Nexus 5 Home Buttons topic

Hey all ,

Just wanted to ask a quick question, I just installed nova launcher on my nexus 5 and there is an option to remove the dock (menu, phone ect..)and oly the home button back and task manager are left at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to add to the stock buttons e.g. If i want an menu button inbetween the 3 other buttons.
