[Q] Replace software menu buttons topic

I saw on the One M8, the three menu buttons at the bottom are now software buttons. Would it be possible to replace them with a different launcher? Has anyone tried?

HTC One software update to 4.4 topic

Why I can't update softwer to v4.4?
Last android version that I have is 4.3 and after that is no new updates. I tried many times and nothing new...

Here is my screenshot with two phones, 1st phone have 4.3 and 2nd have 4.2.2

updating software topic

I have standard software on my htc one which i love but i have rooted my phone and am running TWRM as well, my phone says an update is available but when i try to update it the phone just boots back into recovery and wont install the update, i want to download and install the update but i dont want to loose all my apps, settings or root access as with the root access i have managed to uninstall all the stock apps that are not needed for me personally, which has freed up the phone dramatically thus making it faster.

So i'm asking all you guys on here how would i go about getting the new software update that my phone wants me to install and still keep just the apps that i'm running without all the stock apps coming back on and still keeping root......is this possible???

When will released a software update for nexus 5 topic

Nexus already press out the Nexus 5 has been plagued with camera issues since day one. I've known the searching "released a software update" to improve the camera's autofocus speed and slow shutter for Android 4.4.3. So their company already Google I/O set for June 25 and June 26 (to wait until summer time). I want to know it was only for Samsung Galaxy S5 or others model. When will update I/O and Camera (for Nexus 5)?

My LG G2 and their software topic

I just got a LG G2 last Thursday and I am enjoy using it, but downloading the PC Suite and their other software from the website is an absolute pain. I have an 80meg download fibre connecting and everything that I download is at lightening speed except when I got on LG's website and try and download their software and it is downloading at 3.4k a second that is 55k old modem speed.

At first I thought it was a problem with my internet, but it seems that there is a problem at LG's end as I have just downloaded a load of software itunes, BBC iplayer etc and they are installing and download normally fast.

I received a notification for an update but since my device is rooted, I can't do OTA updates.

so my questions are; Is it worth going through the trouble of updating, and if so, how do I go about doing it???

I want to know if an android app is downloaded from a different distribution channel than Google Play, could the app still use Google Play to receive the updates?

Is it technically possibly and if the Google developer terms and conditions would allow it ?

Ok so does upgradimg to the new software kill the battery or not? I have a refurbished one with the previous spftware but it is lettimg me know the update is available. Should I update or stay on old software?

Software Update Check Issue topic

Apparently I have to wait 26,328 hours before I can check for an update again. I remember when 4.4.2 rolled out, I set my date forward 24 hours just to get it. Well, I got it, but recently I checked for an update and it told me to wait 26,000 hours. Umm, 3 years? No thank you. I don't even remember messing with my date besides the day of the update. I Tried clearing cache of Software Update and that didn't help.

Hey so I started working for a Motorola's subcontractor and i could get my hands on some of the software and since this is a question I can't ask my boss could I get in trouble to share it in here? I mean some of the software cannot be used since it needs a user and password but others don't but anyway I will upload all the new MTK patches for RSDLite that I get so if yes in a couple of days I will upload in the motorola forum.

Error when backing up with LG Software and TWRP topic

Hi,

I have an error to report, and I wanted to know if this error has anything to do with TWRP.
I tried backing up my phone with LG software. I have noticed that the phone restarts, and when it does, it goes to TWRP custom recovery.... I think because of the custome recovery I cannot backup with LG software.
Is this correct?

It's odd, but it makes sense, as I no longer have the original recovery.

Do you have this bug?
Or this happens only with me?

I'm wondering if there's any local UK or Europe radios/basebands I can flash to this phone that might improve reception for UK?
I remember this being a thing for some of my older phones. Is it the same for LG?

something wrong with software update topic

Just tried to perform a software update with the FOTA on my i9192, 4.2.2 on I9192xxuamh3, this is stock rom.
My phone has not been modded in anyway, and previously it shows I have the latest F/W, today it say's my phone has been modified and cannot perform update, I have check the status through the about device and through the android download.
after a battery pull, all went back to normal, has anyone got this message before or is it just a bug.

If I have the Verizon DE Moto X, do I need to be stock (no root) and re-locked bootloader to get software updates? Or just one or the other? Neither?
