Broken lockscreen issue topic

After update to latest firmware im facing to very annoying issue. When I restart my phone everything is OK but after entering pin code i get notification 'XPERIA stopped working'. My lockscreen gets black, showing time and other things but background is black - you can see it on picture. In other words, i am not able to choose lockscreen wallpaper and When I set one, its changes to black background.

Please help im very dissapointed. Every help is appreciated

i cant believe i dropped a dumbbell directly on the screen at the gym and the screen is completely done. phone still seems fully functional (speakers,buttons work, screen lights up but cant see anything.) i managed to copy all files/folders by usb through "my computer" but from my knowledge theres still "hidden" data. i managed to backup the phone using kies 3 but how do i transfer my contacts to my spare phone (htc one x)?

how do i completely back up the whole phone so i can transfer to my new phone? my main concern is stuff like sms,contacts, call history,photos videos....

any advice will be greatly appreciated thanks. i will even "donate" for your advice/tips

Broken LCD? topic

Hello Guys.

I dropped my phone today and when I lifted it up my screen was blue/black. I pulled the battery out and turned it on. Most of the screen is black and can't see anything. There are strips of blue pixels here and there.

What exactly is broken and what do i need to replace. I obviously need to replace the Glass frame/screen, LCD ... do I need to replace the digitizer as well?


If anyone knows about this please help me out.

Yes, again a very same thread.

So the screen of the Streak has been broken for quite some time now and I wanted to use it again for my car project. Unfortunately I can't find any shop near me (The Netherlands) who can provide me with a solution. Just phoned Dell and they say it will run me about €130 to get it fixed.

Do you guys know any other solution to fix it? Or is it time for me to move on?

Lockscreen Pin or Password broken with MDL Bootloader and 4.4.2 Touchwiz Base Rom topic

After restarting my sgh-m919 I can Bypass the Pin or Password Lockscreen Security by immediately swiping. If i press the power button to lock the screen and awake the phone i still can bypass security by swiping. After several seconds the Lockscreen Pin or Password starts working and it continues to work until i restart the phone again.

This is with an MDL Bootloader and 4.4.2 Kit Kat Touchwiz based roms. I've tried Fenny's rom, Sickness, and some other roms. Just not sure which ones were Touchwiz based after trying so many different roms.

Can anyone here confirm that (with the NB4 Bootloader and Touchwiz based 4.4.2 roms) you can or cannot bypass pin or password security immediately after your phone restarts?

Enter Pin with Broken Digitizer topic

My girlfriend dropped her phone and broke most of the digitizer, the screen works fine and looks normal, but only the bottom third half of the digitizer works. I need to find a way to enter the pin so I can get the pictures off her old phone and put them on her new phone. I'm not looking for a way to bypass the security, I'm just looking for a way to enter the pin with a broken digitizer. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an G2 that is currently broken on the front screen, the LCD is functional however the touch interface is not working. I need to recover my photos and anything else that i could possibly recover with my computer however the phone is defaulted to charge only on a computer. There is no password on the phone and when i use an lg flip cover it will go to the homescreen. Does anyone have an idea on how i could accomplish this? phone is not rooted and usb debugging is disabled. I've looked around the forums and google searched around but i have had not luck, this leads me to believe there is nothing else i can do however maybe somewhere here can save the day.

the phone appears as a mass storage device on the computer...myphoneexplorer says, no phone connected to usb

Factory Reset with broken screen - no USB debugging enabled topic

Hello,
First I'm sorry for my bad english.
I must reset my Note 2 to factory (or delete any personal data) but my screen is completely broken and I don't see anything. All I've tried like ADB or Screen Mirroring failed because my USB debugging isn't enabled. Also I've tried to Flash the Stock ROM and a Factory_Reset.tar via ODIN but it also failed. What can I do?
PS: I must send it to the new owner the next time :D

Help: backup options - broken screen and no pc topic

Hey folks, so my gt-i9305 hit the deck and the screen/digitiser cracked. Phone works fully from what I can tell just no touch screen. Can still use voice commands etc so I know it works ;)

Was wondering if there was a way to grab the info or perform a backup without 1: a working screen and 2: no access to a pc (bloody hard drive failed)

Running twrp for recovery and the galaxy project rom. (can't remember which version though)

I'm kinda in a bit of a rush as insurance are sending a new phone so need to get this stuff off asap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it can only be done via pc, any links or instructions would be great as searching on Tapatalk is painful at the best of times. Thanks

[Q] i9505 possibly USB port broken need to go back to stock rom topic

Hi,

My problem is simple : I have an android i9505 under 4.2 which I rooted (I derooted just yesterday by trying things...) and that'all : never installed a ROM or anything else apart this root thing one day.

When i go to DOWNLOAD MODE it says "Custom" so the Samsung warranty can take it in charge, they say that I have to put it like it was before. Of course I don't have any mention of knox since i'm still in android 4.2

So I want to install a stock ROM but I CAN'T do that with ODIN : I tried 4 PC, 10 USB ports, all the drivers in the world, did a numerous wipe cache and stuff but nothing works : the device (in download mode or in normal btw) is not recognized. In the best cases I have a "unknown device" popping up but no version of Odin recognized the device.

Can I install a stock ROM from the SD CARD ? Because when I start in RECOVERY MODE i can see that i can "apply update from..." but all the tutorial says to install fro example "CWM" and choose "install from zip...". Of course I would like to keep a stock ROM and to not have a know Ox1

So to summarize I have :
- a Galaxy S4 i9505 working, NOT ROOTED (checked with "Root Checker Basic"
- with android 4.2
- apparently which is "Custom" but still the samsung touchwizz stock rom...
- NO WAY to make it work via Odin or anything else because the USB connection doesn't work at all
- an external SD card on what I can install stuff : CWM ? a STOCK ROM ?...

Thank you in advance, I passed hours and hours searching for solutions but now i'm quite desperate... :eek:

[Q] Recover Viber Cache from SDCARD of broken phone. topic

Hi there

My Xperai Mini Pro SK17i screen smashed and tried to change the screen but no luck.
When I connect it to the PC it just shows red light blinking once per second.

I have removed the 8GB sdcrad from it and I can see that there are viber backup in folder named VIBER on the sdcard root but it has only the images.
I have found another folder in SDCard\Android\DATA\com.viber.voip\CACHE
It has the following files (see attchment)
the biggest file is cache_vts_com.viber.voip.0 2.50MB and I guess it has the chat history.
I wonder if anyboy please tell me how to decrypt it?

Broken Xperia U [Free to good home UK Only] topic

I have a broken xperia u the Screen and Digitizer are completely broken, the phone has a "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" bootloader it is how ever unlocked for any network, it was thrown at a wall recently after I got frustrated with it.

I will post it within the UK end of the month

Broken buttons topic

Post up if you had a button stop working. I'm just wondering if this is a problem.
My power button stopped working on my first phone after 3 days. That was on a Sunday. On Monday I was taking it in to have it replaced. I'll be danged,I dropped the phone in the parking lot and got a ding in it. So they wouldn't swap it. I paid the deductible and got a new phone.
I did see another post where a guys volume button or buttons stopped working. So it has me wondering if this is a problem.
Post only if they stopped working on their own, not if you dropped it or broke it - but if if they just stopped working on their own.

Hi everyone. Thanks already for having a look!

So I dropped my i9300 on my carpet, while i was taking it out of the case that I usually have it in ... and now my display doesn't work anymore :(

I still get my notifications beeps and emails are coming in, the buttons light but but my screen is dark (I see two fainted lines sometimes)

I see it is cracked on the inside but the glass is fine from the outside (really odd).

I am not sure if that's called a digitizer or LED pane or whatnot but maybe you can help me. Where would i get that part and how i could do that myself. All the tutorials i could find were for cracked screens (where the glass is busted)

Broken knock on topic

A few days ago my knock on broke. I've changed Rome,kernels, and restored a stock backup to see if any of that was the problem and it still won't work. Then I noticed that a line of my my screen is not registering touches. If I swipe across the area it registers, just not to touch. I have a feeling that with a portion of the screen dead it is affecting the knock on feature. Can anyone attest to this or does anyone know what my next course of action might be to get knock on back. I have included a picture of lcd screen test to show which portion of the screen is not registering touch. Thanks in advance!

[Q] [S4] LCD or Glass broken ? topic

Hello ,
two days ago this phone glass broke because it fell on the ground.
I want to know is it the glass that broke ( can repare for 15 euro ) or is it the whole LCD that broke ( 100+ euro to repare )

Everything works , the screen is responsive everywhere. The broken part is on the top right of the phone .
There are also vertical color bars now. When I just start phone they aren't here but after some milisecs they come and change everytime I do something too .

SMS broken after updating to stock KK (D800) topic

I don't know if I'm the only one, but after updating to the stock KK ROM (AndroidUser00110001 rooted), the phone loses the capability of sending-receiving SMS. No matter what app I use won't work, and all I get is the "Unfortunately, (App X) has stopped" error. I have to go back to Jelly Bean to get the SMS working again.

My D800 is unlocked, working in another carrier (Movistar)

Anybody else with the same problem?
