Lockscreen Pin or Password broken with MDL Bootloader and 4.4.2 Touchwiz Base Rom topic

After restarting my sgh-m919 I can Bypass the Pin or Password Lockscreen Security by immediately swiping. If i press the power button to lock the screen and awake the phone i still can bypass security by swiping. After several seconds the Lockscreen Pin or Password starts working and it continues to work until i restart the phone again.

This is with an MDL Bootloader and 4.4.2 Kit Kat Touchwiz based roms. I've tried Fenny's rom, Sickness, and some other roms. Just not sure which ones were Touchwiz based after trying so many different roms.

Can anyone here confirm that (with the NB4 Bootloader and Touchwiz based 4.4.2 roms) you can or cannot bypass pin or password security immediately after your phone restarts?

Is there a guide on how to roll back to Touchwiz? Currently have CM rom flashed onto it but am really getting tired of the bad camera without Touchwiz. I did a search and couldn't locate anything. Thanks in advance.

I want to get touchwiz 4x5 for my s4. im rooted on mk2 but the bootloader is locked as you all know. the only versions i have found have been for other phones or i have to install through recovery. anyone know if i can even get this? or not without a ROM and unlocked bootloader?

Hi, I have SlimKat 4.4.2 Build 3 rom and I have a question there is a possibility to install TouchWiz or S4 wiget?

AOSP and TouchWiz - IMO only topic

I've been an AOSB user for a long time now, it's a great kitkat rom and does almost everything I've wanted it to do with no issues at all. I just recently wanted to use my phone to watch movies on my HDTV but apparently AOSP roms won't let me do that, at least not with the hdmi cable I already own. Since I didn't want to spend any money on new equipment that may or may not work I decided to try out touchwiz again, I haven't used it since 4.1.2. Some things I'd completely forgotten about, so I thought I'd put my opinions here while they are still fresh in my mind. This might help somebody who is afraid of trying something new, in either direction.

AOSP/CM - 1. Fast. Just opening and switching apps it is noticeably faster than TW.
2. light weight - the roms are generally only maybe 200 mb's and backups generally are quicker.
3. themes - for roms with theme engine you have hundreds of themes at your finger tips, and it only takes a few seconds to switch themes. If you get bored easily looking at the same thing this is a major plus.
4. Depending on the rom you have options, tons and tons of options.
5. again, depending on the rom, you have HALO, multiwindow, active notifications, omniswitch, etc.

BUT...negatives include no wifi calling, signals seem a little worse, and some things (like HDMI out to tv) don't work as well or as easily as TW.

TW - 1. It works. Well. I haven't found any issues in daily use with it.
2. Many of the modifications and options found in AOSP can be added to TW using xposed, plus some TW roms have these options built in.
3. Battery life seems better, with or without custom kernels. At least in standby. With cm I'd lose about 5-6% in 8 or 9 hours overnight, with TW and the same apps and options I lose maybe 3%.

BUT...TW is slower. Not much and not in everything but when it does lag its easy to get annoyed after having used AOSP for months. Maybe the annoyance will go away once I get used to it?
Also, this is just personal opinion but I feel like the settings in TW is just a mess. The "google" way of arranging settings needs a little work but overall I think it's easier to use than samsungs version.

I know this isnt' anything new for most of you but hopefully for somebody who is on the fence and not brave enough to switch from one to the other this will help.

Also, if any aosp/cm users have any help for how I can hook the phone to the tv I'd love to hear it.

I've just got omega up and running on my note 3 sm-n9005 and I've tried to put another launcher in the priv-app folder which has left me with esay touchwiz.

I've tried numerous things with permissions etc and the stock apk to get it back but cant seem to get it going.

Whats the fastest way to get back to stock touchwiz ?

Hey dear senior members, I am using Touchwiz v 8.0 rom. Its a good rom. But i am facing low ram problem in this rom. So i want to use rams swap. But in this rom no kernel is included and my stock kernel does not support swap. So can i use any custom kernel with this rom? If i can use then which kernel can i use? Please help me.

I was reading this article about the KitKat updates for the Note 3 and s4 and it also said that the Note II and S III will be getting the updates later on. My question is, when do you guys think we can expect custom KitKat/TouchWiz ROMs? I'm really curious as to how this new software will behave on our devices. What do you guys think? [Q] My Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 refuses to boot into any Roms apart from stock touchwiz topic

My phone isn't bricked, however, it will not work at all on any other Rom. I have tried three Roms now but I can only get my phone to boot into the stock Touchwiz, and since I cannot update my phone because it is rooted, I am stuck on 4.1.2. I really badly want a different Rom but my phone is not letting me boot into any. My phone seems to get past the initial samsung galaxy s3 splash screen but then stays on the Rom's boot screen indefinitely causing me to boot into recovery and restore a backup.

Some background info: I originally rooted after downgrading my phone due to the buggy 4.3 update but was not intended to root, I only did because my phone then stopped allowing connection and I had to root to flash a new baseband version that was compatible. I then went through a lot of trouble as I flashed back to my original baseband version of I9300XXELLA but it did not work so I googled and found that I could download I9300DDEMG2 baseband version, it was my only shot so I did it and now connection works, but I am worried that this could be a contributer to my problem, I tried flashing back I9300XXELLA before flashing a new Rom but it did nothing.

-Yes, I am on the latest version of my recovery (CWM 6.0.4.6)

-I have tried; Cyanogenmod, Omega Rom and Resurrection Remix and all three did the same thing.

-I downloaded GetRIL but that says I am on incompatible baseband and RIL versions but it seems to never change when (I think at least) it is on the correct version.


Any ideas what could be causing this?

i have placed it in System/app then i flashed it and the app didn't appear in app drawer.

Is there any way to theme a 4.3 TouchWiz ROM to look like (or similar) to AOSP? I've been using JellyBean's ROM, which does this natively, but that is 4.1, and I'll be moving to a ROM based off the new official 4.3 release.
