[Q] Battery for galaxy s3 clone (GT-I9300) topic

Hi,
I have a S3 clone that came with two batteries. Now I'm trying to order some replacement batteries for that. First I tried with samsung s3 original battery (3.8 V) but it doesn't work. The old battery that the clone came with is marked with: EB-F1A2GBU (3.7 V). Looking on the websites (ebay/amazon) I found that this model of battery (EB-F1A2GBU) is for samsung S2. Now my question is, have anyone tried a S2 battery on their S3 GT-I9300 clone? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanx!

[Q] My Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 refuses to boot into any Roms apart from stock touchwiz topic

My phone isn't bricked, however, it will not work at all on any other Rom. I have tried three Roms now but I can only get my phone to boot into the stock Touchwiz, and since I cannot update my phone because it is rooted, I am stuck on 4.1.2. I really badly want a different Rom but my phone is not letting me boot into any. My phone seems to get past the initial samsung galaxy s3 splash screen but then stays on the Rom's boot screen indefinitely causing me to boot into recovery and restore a backup.

Some background info: I originally rooted after downgrading my phone due to the buggy 4.3 update but was not intended to root, I only did because my phone then stopped allowing connection and I had to root to flash a new baseband version that was compatible. I then went through a lot of trouble as I flashed back to my original baseband version of I9300XXELLA but it did not work so I googled and found that I could download I9300DDEMG2 baseband version, it was my only shot so I did it and now connection works, but I am worried that this could be a contributer to my problem, I tried flashing back I9300XXELLA before flashing a new Rom but it did nothing.

-Yes, I am on the latest version of my recovery (CWM 6.0.4.6)

-I have tried; Cyanogenmod, Omega Rom and Resurrection Remix and all three did the same thing.

-I downloaded GetRIL but that says I am on incompatible baseband and RIL versions but it seems to never change when (I think at least) it is on the correct version.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300 KitKat ROM topic

Hey guys, Just a quick question here regarding the Samsung Galaxy GT I9300 s3.
I am looking for a custom rom based on Android Kitkat 4.4 or 4.4.2 that has "motion" like on the stock rom, or even a custom rom that allows video calls or if possible both. please help me if you know of anything, i'm really keen on getting a custom rom based on 4.4.2 but don't want to loose this features.

PLEASE if anybody can help me out i would be most grateful to you,
I appreciate your help on this everyone.

GT-I9300 4.3 update? Yes or no ? topic

Hey guys,
What's your experience with 4.3 update ? It seems like a lot of people are complaining about it.
Is it a go or should i stay with 4.0.4?
I want to update to 4.3 only because of buttery-smooth performance that Google claims it to be after the update :D
I know that first OTA update was a complete dissaster but after that Samsung released a fix for it, so is it really fixed with that new update or it's still buggy ?
So what's your opinion ? Should i update or stay on 4.0.4 or perhaps wait for 4.4?
I hope 4.4 will have much less problems :)
Thanks in advance,
Slim Shady :)

[Q] Lost use of touchscreen (GT-I9300) topic

Hi all, I am a first time poster

I own a galaxy S3 (GT I9300)

first problem...
i flashed a rom called CrDroid and it wiped my EFS and IMEI so i couldnt make or receive sms or calls and got a generic 0049 IMEI

2..
Upon trying to fix the issue, i tried to flash CWM recovery touch and my touchscreen stopped working. so, its a software issue, not hardware

i have tried flashing many different roms, kernels etc but nothing will fix my problems.

is there someone who can assist me in fixing my problems? (flash touchscreen drivers and restore EFS data [in that order])

or

Can someone give me information on how to reflash EVERYTHING on my phone including system and root (and any other) partitions?

i am NOT interested in sending my phone back to samsung or to a repair centre

PLEASE HELP!

[Q] Is 40MHz bandwidth supported with 2.4GHz Wifi n on GT-i9300 topic

Hi all,

I've found this old thread about 150Mbps on GS3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1815929
So I confirm that I'm able to connect at 150mbps with my GT-i9300 (international version) by using a wifi n router at 5Ghz.
To be able to reach 150Mbps, I must enable 40MHz bandwidth. It is what is expected because the GS3 supports only one antenna stream (no MIMO support).
With this link, I can download files from my NAS at 5-6MB/s (Mega Bytes per second) that is satisfying me.
The only issue is that due to 5GHz, wifi connection is limited to a small area (it doesn't work well through walls).
Because there is no other wifi spot in channels 1 to 9 (only other spots far enough and both 20MHz in channel 11), I've enables the 40MHz in 2.4GHz carrier on my router. Using my (old) nettop, I've enabled 40MHz support on the only 2.4GHz carrier supported, and I cansee connection link at 150Mbps (my old nettop have one stream too). I've also checked on another fix PC that supports MIMO (2 antennas) and 2.4GHz only that I can reach 300Mbps with 40MHz bandwidth. So I confirm that both are supporting 40MHz bandwidth with 2.4GHz carrier.

So, now my question is:
- why I can not enable 40MHz support at 2.4GHz on my Galaxy S3 ?

Is there a hardware limitation on bandwidth configuration on the RF chip (not the baseband, but RF where antenna is connected) ?
Is it only a software limitation due to android support that doesn't enable "auto 20/40" bandwidth on 2.4GHz ?
is there a mysterious and unknown configuration setting somewhere to enable the 40MHz on 2.4GHz ?

I confirm that 40MHz is supported at least with 5GHz carrier (you must first enable "auto 20/40" on your router and well choose your channels).
Why it is not enable at 2.4GHz ?

Maybe is there another alternative ROM that supports that ?

Thanks a lot
