Backlight broken / device recognized as mass storage - how to get the data off ? topic

Hello.

my screen broke (ok, not the screen, just the backlight doesnt work anymore...so all black) and i want to get my sms...
the phone appears as a mass storage device on the computer...myphoneexplorer says, no phone connected to usb

any advice?

Please, please any help!!! the last days my laptop dont recognized my S4.... I try in a different computer but its the same....I dont know if do this after install the rom called Hyperdrive RSL14... because when I install this rom show something wrong in the installation, but I continue and use it... but I dont shure if the computer dont recognized after that......

I try in different slots of usb on my laptop.. I try in another laptop ... show the same screen :
"One of the usb devices atached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognized"

i try send my phone in Odin mode , but its the same !!!... I try to do on my cell restoring to an old nandroid backup but its the same....so only have in my sdcard two roms to install : wiked 10 and hyperdrive RSL14... but I want my pc recognized my cell... please helpme on this !!!:mad:

I have tried all the drivers I could find
(Pdanet/ADB/koush/LG) but my computers (all three of them) don't recognize my lg.

I've also tried different usb cables.

Also I have restored my lg using stock recovery mode four or five times with no results.

The only way I can transfer files is using wireless storage.

I feel like I'm on the brink of insanity please help

Hi all, I have a problem, my HTC One X not recognized in computer and HTC Sync Manager. However, Moborobo does recognize my device. I need to enable USB tethering in case to access my storage via "My Computer". It was working fine before i flash xm kernel. Im in stock ROM 4.2.2.

So long story short my cousin tried to flash the SlimKat ROM the other day and somehow managed to soft brick his phone. Now it gets stuck on the splash screen of "HTC Quietly Brilliant". I thought it would be an easy fix by sideloading a new ROM by adb but that didnt work. I can get it into bootloader (1.44.0000) and fastboot but the real problem is that the computer doesnt recognize the phone at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers and have tried 2 different computers and 3 different cables. I can get it to say fastboot usb but whenever I type a fastboot command it gets stuck "waiting for device" and when i type "adb devices" it doesn't find any device.

Has anybody seen this or have a solution?

Usb not recognized topic

I was about to flash boot.img using flashboot each time I connect windows says usb device not recognized I have installed htc sync manager and even cyanogenmod ADB universal drivers still face same problem I went to fastboot in bootloader still usb not recognized before flashing I haven't enabled usb debugging is this the reason for it if yes then what is the solution
I am on htc droid dna s-on I can still enter into recovery and stuck in boot logo
