Help! Screen dead, but turns on. topic

I cannot get into phone at all. Screen is not responding. I want to mount my SD card to get my crap off, but I can't get to homescreen to allow PC to mount the drive. I booted to recovery and TWRP is not accepting touch either. Any idea how I can get my stuff off this phone? I can't take to a place to have repaired due to sensitive data I can't have out of my site.

My Nexus 7 turns on by itself if I plug it into the charger or if I remove it from the charger. Does anyone know how to disable this? I leave my nexus 7 off because I only use it once in awhile.

Bought Galaxy s3, turns out its blacklisted topic

Hey I bought a galaxy s3 off someone at university, it has the optus logo when booting up and I was told it was a optus phone, I got a new optus sim put it in and its saying the handset has been locked by optus, so its been stolen i guess and I guess the seller wont give me my money back... So am i able to unlock the phone or is it screwed or can i unlock the phone from the optus network and use another phone provider?

Screen turns off while gaming since update to 4.4 topic

I've updated my LG G2 to KitKat Stock and now I've found that when playing some apps, the screen dims and finally turns off as if the phone was idle. In Android 4.2, if you were playing a game, the screen would stay on as long as the game was loaded, but in 4.4 it seems the thing has changed.

I haven't touched the screen timeout and its in the default value (30 seconds). Any idea if I have to configure something extra by my side or is this an issue with 4.4?

As a workarround, I can set a higher screen timeout, but the idea is to keep the screen on while gaming instead of just increase the timeout.

Galaxy S 3 turns on until Galaxy Logo topic

Hello people,

I am wokring on an international verson of Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 of a friend of mine.

His devise freezed at the Galaxy S 3 logo at the beginning and couldn't go any forward.
He took it to a guy that repairs phones and he told him that it's a hardware problame and needs 150 euro to fix it.

So i asked him if he wants me to give a try and see if it's not a hardware problem.

Anyway i will give you as many details as possible to tell me what you think.

As i said before its GT-I9300, no root, unbranded, but i am not sure about the firmware. Most probably it's at 4.3. No SD card.

The phone starts only until the Galaxy S 3 logo and freezes there.
When i press the power button the phone shuts off but then immediately reboots by itself but again freezes at the Galaxy logo.

I do have access to both recovery and download mode so i believed that i could do something but unfortunately so far nothing.

I have tried to do factory reset but during the process it reboots. I wiped succesfully the dalvic cache and the battery stats but i cannot do factory reset.

I also tried through Kies to do emergency recovery but again during the process it tells me that there is an error with the phone and couldn't go forward.

Then i tried with Odin to root the phone. I have found the correct PDA file (i think) and again started the process but i got FAIL.

Then i tried with custom roms. I have put 2-3 custom roms that i had on my pc. I trasfered them on an external SD card and tried to install them through Recovery mode. The process starts ok and allows me select the options of the installation but at the point where it tries to wipe the data it stops and automatically reboots.

I have tried to install the custom rom without full wipe but again it stops and reboots.

I browsed in a lot of sites but i haven't found anything else so far that could save this phone.


So i open to any suggestions you may have.

Is it really hardware issue?
It's strange though because the phone starts up to a point and i have access on both recovery and download mode.

Phone turns on when charging it off? Is it a faulty battery? I haven't charged my phone while it's off for awhile now and tried just now and am realizing it turns on by itself. Took the battery out for a couple of minutes and tried again, same thing. Anyone have the same issue?

Tablet Z Turns On When Plugged In topic

Hey fellow Tablet Zer's. Having an odd issue -- every time I plug in my tablet, it boots up. If I shut it down while plugged in, it just reboots. If I shut it down while NOT plugged, and then plug it in -- it reboots. Any body have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

For reference: unlocked bootloader. Rooted 4.3. Using the XZDualRecovery.

When i bought Nexus 5 it had 4.4.1. I am not sure right now (because i upgraded to 4.4.2) but i believe if i put nexus 5 (turned off) on wireless charger then it (nexus 5) turns automatically on.
Is it true? Maybe someone has 4.4.1 or remember if it really works.

I am rooted on 4.3 nothing custom to it says custom and has a unlocked icon because I use GL to SD and it had to modifiy the system well I fell asleep earlier left the phone on the charger I never had this issue it got really really really hot and had the icon with the red temp I took the battery out and let it cool down well it turns on I can boot into download mode but I cant do a factory data reset by holding power volume up and home at the same time it wont let me also I cant do anything on the phone cause the home screen will not unlock what do I do how can I unroot and remove the unlocked thing on boot if im going to get another replacement device I havent even had verizon for 4 months and this will be my 4th replacement device

Help with S4 mini GT - I9195 (turns off) topic

I have bought S4 mini a couple months ago. And after some time phone goes off suddenly. It goes off even when the battery is fully charged. I did hard reset, uninstalled all apps i have downloaded, but still phone goes off. And also there are no periods of time when it turns off. It could be after 3 days (from last turn off), or after 1 day, or 1 or 2 weeks. Please help if anyone had same issue or know how to fix it.
Or maybe there is an app which can monitor all work of the phone, and which program or function turns it off?

Nexus 5 Power Off turns into a soft reboot, wierd... topic

It happened just now, my Nexus 5 overriden my Power Off command and soft reboot itself instead of totally powered off... How cool and freaky was that. :eek:

I'm on ART instead of Dalvik, 100% stock 4.4.2 KOT49H... can some 1 comfirm that?
