Unknown Sources Setting Gone topic

I was wanting to install a non-market app, so when I went to my security settings the "unknown sources" setting was gone. I suspect it was when I allowed Google's android device manager to be a device administrator. Since then I've uninstalled android device manager. Is there any way to get that setting back without doing a factory reset?

Sent from my HTC Vivid using xda app-developers app

unknown error could not install (-24) topic

Ok so i was running the note 2/3 rom I forget what it's called and my phone was randomly rebooting itself. So i wiped everything did a factory reset and went to install my old apps and i kept getting this stupid error when stuff from the market went to install. The same exact apps that were running on the same exact rom. So then i got fed up and wiped everything and installed the sks mk4 rom and I still have the same issue. What is going on with this?

I have read these threads very thoroughly before posting anything on forum.

Problems: No Sim detected, unknown baseband, imei #, no signal. All else seems to work. Getvar command will show IMEI & baseband.

I purchased from eBay as parts or repair because it was stuck on boot screen. Vendor sell mass phones and did not know the history. Figured it was worth a shot to fix.

Phone was stock AT&T 4.4 with 1.55. No modifications is was just stuck in boot loop. I tried newest version RUU Utility but same results, boot loop. I unlocked bootloader via htcdev and then flashed newest version cynogenmod (even with S-off) and was successful getting it to boot. All seemed great except the was no signal, unknown IMEI (with exception of getvar command), unknown baseband and also cannot save any APN. It won't allow. There are no APN profiles but when I create a new one and click save, it goes back to blank. Sim card is not issue. The problem seems to be with everything concerning network part of the phone. WifI works. I figured since boot issue is resolved I will try RUU utility again but got the same results, back to boot loop.

Next I reverted back to Cyno since it was bootable and I was able to acheive S-Off via firewater and got rooted. I have flashed from cyno 11 down to cyno 10 but same results, no service, imei unkown as well as the other related.

I have ended up with Google play version rom. Also downgraded from 1.55 to 1.54. The last two things a just done was flash darkboot, and reflashed AT&T radio version the showed in getvar and along with trying the newest radio.

Anything I flash goes thru no errors however, this most needed part of the phone won't wake up.

[Q] Unknown error code during application install:24 topic

Hello
I've seen answers from quite some time ago (like this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1992241 ), and I'd like to know if there's a new/ more relevant solution.
I get this "Unknown error code during application install: "-24"",
Is there a way to fix it without a Factory Reset or Root?
Thanks!
Alon

[Q] Baseband Version & IMEI Unknown topic

Hi all,

Ran into some issues with a new phone, hopefully someone can help me out. I've been reading and tried a few things, but no dice. I purchased an unlocked AT&T Galaxy S3 off Ebay, then proceeded to install CWM recovery, take a nandroid backup of stock (v4.0.4), and installed CM 10.2. Upon inserting my T-Mobile sim card and trying to configure the phone, it complained about me needing to insert a sim card and I subsequently noticed that both my Baseband Version, Network, Mobile Network Type, My Phone Number and IMEI are reporting as Unknown.

I've tried restoring my nandroid backup to stock, same items are reporting as Unknown. Trying to flash several stock images with Odin results in 'SW Rev Check Fail: Fused 2 > Binary 0'. I'm guessing this is since CM 10.2 is v4.3. I've tried using NV-items_reader_writer to read/write the IMEI, but it won't connect, complaining 'Phone does not accept SPC. SPC is not correct.' I've run Triangle Away under CM 10.2 with no change to Odin results.

Currently, Download Mode reports:

Quote:

SGH-I747
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader RP SWREV: 2

Does anyone have any suggestions on next steps?

Unknown manufacturer name topic

Hello, when I use CPUZ to check all the data and information about my tablet, I found that it lacks the manufacturer name as oppose to my phone. Similarly, when I want to download some stuff for it on Google Play, it also fails to name my device. Therefore, how could I manage to name the manufacturer for my tablet so I could make everything nicer and easier? Thanks.

[Q] Help enabling unknown sources on 2.2.0 topic

I was looking into the CWM thread regarding the matter and didn't see anything referring to the most recent stock firmware. I'm wondering if the process detailed will even work right, and whether the
"File Type: zip NookHD-HDplus-stock-enable-Unknown-Sources-rev0-(09.08.13).zip - [Click for QR Code] (727.9 KB, 7194 views)"
download would be the one I need.
