LG flex root its question topic

I'm not new to rooting, must of flashed, boot looped, tried over a dozen rooms on my evo 4g LTE with Sprint. But I just got the flex, LOVE IT, and want to root it but saw something about not being able to get OTAs. Now is this true? And if so does a simple" unroot" in supersu work? Etc etc

I plan on using ioroot, and putting twrp as my recovery. Just need a little LG advice :D
