[Q] HTC One M8 apps with M7 Compatibility? (zoe, blinkfeed, etc) topic

Hi Guys,

Pretty stoked to find out that HTC is going to be breaking out all their apps into Google Play, I have already downloaded the HTC Sense TV app and it works great on my GPE rom after I installed the HTC service pack.

However, it seems the other apps (Blinkfeed, Zoe, Gallery) are incompatible with my device. Does anyone know if these apps will be remain incompatible with the M7? It would definitely be great to have best of both worlds with HTC software on GPE.

[Q] SM-N900W8 Compatibility for Hardware topic

Trying to find an LCD/Digitizer with Frame for my phone. I can't seem to clear up whether it matters what model I look at for parts.

Looking at a bundle of parts that include LCD Screen, Digitizer Touch Screen, Front Housing, Front Facing Camera, Earphone Jack with Ear Speaker Flex Cable Ribbon, Charging Port Flex Cable Ribbon, Signal Wire Vibrating Motor and Power Button Flex Cable Ribbon.

All of these are for the N9005.

Does anyone know if these will work with the Canadian model? Alternatively I could just get the LCD/Digitizer with housing for the same model, or any US model.

[Q] Bluetooth smart compatibility topic

I want to buy a cardio monitoring chest belt. I only find "bluetooth smart" products, but it seems that the one mini bluetooth 4.0 is not "smart"...

Do I have to expect a compatibility issue ?

Do you know if since the OTA update to android 4.3, the bluetooth technology of the phone has became smarter ?

Thanks for your advices

[Q] Kernel compatibility topic

Hello xda members.
I've got a question regarding kernels. How is one to know which kernel will work with there particular ROM? Are they all somewhat compatible just to a matter of degree? Or do people just find one that sounds good and hope it works on there particular ROM?

I'm running aosb end of the line ROM and I'm real curious to try out kernels now.

Any insight world be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

[Q] 5830B compatibility of custom ROMs? topic

Hey guys,

I keep seeing that the 5830B is almost the same as the "raw" 5830 but for radio frequencies supported; however, I´ve tried to install some custom ROMs (Slim and BlackHawk for example) and they all fail at trying to assert for a 5830. That was not a good surprise for me as I always format /system before flashing a new ROM...

Then I tried getting back to stock and found out that Winx64´s USB stack doesn´t like Sammy´s download mode, so no go trying Odin. Great!

Is there any way around this? I I have the latest CWM recovery installed and I can dump files on the FS through USB mounting. I wouldn´t have a problem flashing a modded stock, that is flashable via CWM, but I keep getting the assert failures so I thought of asking first...

Thanks for any help you can provide!

[Q] Cyanogenmod Compatibility topic

I am attempting to root my old XT907 before I give it to a friend and I am somewhat confused on which software versions Cyanogenmod works with. The Razr M I have is at system version 98.16.3 with the option to upgrade to 98.30.1. The build number is 9.8.1Q-78-1. The Cyanogenmod wiki says that Cyanogenmod can only be accomplished on firmware versions prior to 9.20.1, but there are also articles saying that the phone can not be rooted on Android 4.1.2 (which I currently have). Should I update to 98.30.1 or stay at the current version?

[Q] Need help with compatibility check Siyah Kernel on NeatRom topic

Hi guys,

I have rooted my i9100 (JB 4.1.2) and flashed it with MS2 NeatROM v5.6 Aroma, which works fine except for the battery life which has plummeted dramatically since I've flashed it. Now I'm hoping to resolve this issue by flashing SiyahKernel S2-v5.0.1 (wish I could post a link but I can't because Rooky forum member).

My questions are:

1. Is the Siyah kernel I’ve selected compatible with my device and ROM? Will it work?
2. How do you check compatibility of kernels vs. installed rom and device? Phone firmware? J
3. Can kernels in general improve/influence battery life?

Note!!: I am NOT looking for an opinion on how the combination ROM, Kernel, and Device will turn out, or which is best, I am merely asking if my selected Kernel is compatible with the ROM and device. I am new to rooting and do not know what details in flashed ROM and device specs to pay attention to when selecting a kernel, hence my questions.

Phone details:
SGS2 i9100 (JB 4.1.2)
Current kernel: 3.0.31-1484249 dpi@DELL177 #3 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 3
PDA: XWMS2
Phone/firmware: XXMS4

Thanks a lot for your help!
