[Q] Headset Microphone not working with Google Now topic

I am using a Klipsch image S4a. The mic does not work with google now (and recently i discoverd also not with voice recorder), however when I make a phone call or use google hangouts video/voice chat, the mic does work. Therefor the mic seems not to be broken, also another headset with mic gives the same result. Any pointers of what could be the problem?

Rom: nightly CM 11

Bluetooth headset Volume topic

Does anyone know of a way to increase the volume ceiling for Bluetooth headsets? The only problem one is the in call volume music is more than loud enough as is the in call volume without the headset.
I have tried the headset with another phone (xperia x10) and it works fine.
I am currently running
generic uk stock 4.1.2
Rooted, locked bootloader with bootloader unlock allowed no
So no possibility of flashing doom kernel
I have also tried multiple app that say they can boost volume none worked except viper4android and that only affected media a little.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

[Q] Crackling headset audio after root?!? topic

I've been using an 18 ohm Klipsch headset for a long time on my S4, but recently after rooting it, I started getting the crackling audio issue. I've confirmed that the headset still works fine on other devices and it worked fine before on my S4. I tried another 18 ohm headset and it has the same problem. Cheap headphones don't have the problem.... go figure...

I'm not sure if the timing of root was just a coincidence or not. It has Android 4.2.2; Build number is JDQ39.I337UCUAMDL.

Could rooting have done anything to affect the audio?

Is there anything I can try to fix it?

[Q] Using Samsung headset to FF on 4.3 topic

I have tried everything I could find on this including this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...trols-t1997277
but I cannot get my stock Samsung headset to FF on any player with Headset Button Controller. I am rooted, use the GNA5 firmware and Yank555 his latest 4.1b kernel. The problem with this guide is that I do not have the "hs_detect.kl" file, so that probably is one of the problems, but I do not know how to solve it, or it might not be the issue at hand.

Anyone here got their Samsung stock headset to work on 4.3 with FF?

Xperia T increase headset volume? topic

Hi I would like to increase the headset volume on my phone it is far to quiet when listening to music in my car via the audio jack, I used to have a galaxy s i9000 and I used the voodoo amp app that turned up the gain from -10 to +2 and it sounded incredible in the car but my Sony outputs at a much lower volume and sounds pants in comparison!

I've tried a lot of volume boost apps in play store and I've tried flashing sound mods like v4a and zeroinfinitys volume boost and superloud but nothing makes any difference at all!

And I'm stuck with a bootloader unlock allowed : no phone so unable to install custom kernels

Any help to turn up the volume in some way would be greatly appreciated......

Thanks in advance

SteelSeries Siberia Elite Gaming Headset topic

Legit Reviews have taken a look at the SteelSeries Siberia Elite Gaming Headset - let's take a look:

Quote:

"Just like how past iterations of the Siberia headsets were premium gaming headsets in their time, the Siberia Elite is one of SteelSeries’s new first-class audio products and it costs a pretty penny. For 9.99 shipped on Amazon, this headset features the makings of a premium gaming headset with an aesthetic that hasn’t quite been seen before. The Siberia Elite includes familiar SteelSeries design elements such as a retractable microphone and suspended self-adjusting headband found on the Siberia V2. New appearances include volume control being integrated onto the headset, the multicolor headset lighting, and the SteelSeries USB Soundcard V2 which is an actual plug-and-play portable external sound card. This headset comes in two colors, white and black, of which the former we have for review."

[Q] Bluetooth Headset Battery Level topic

Today I opened my shiny new Jaybird Bluebuds X and going through the manual, I ran into this little feature:

There's an app that can read the battery level on Plantronics headsets, why is there no app that can do this for others? Windows Phone apparently is able to read this too. The only big Bluetooth Headset battery app for Android calculates it based on connection time. I was never able to use it properly with my older Jaybird Freedom headphones because I was always losing the data and/or forgetting to run it to start tracking the usage.

I know this is a Nexus 5 thread, but I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to get this on Android, or would be interested in getting a bounty going. I'll be happy to pledge some money towards this, being pretty much clueless about app development.

It's not that big of a deal, but the battery warning on these Jaybirds is very annoying, beeping constantly when it's about to run out. Nothing that a consistent charging schedule can't fix, and with a regular micro USB connector, a quick charge in the car will keep them charged up.

I'm just sad that we're missing on a tiny but cool feature.

"On January 27th 2014 Func will start shipping their HS-260 gaming headset, completing a first run of peripherals that started with the MS-3 gaming mouse in February of last year (and the KB-460 mechanical keyboard this past November). Sporting tuned 50mm drivers, detachable audio cables and removable microphone which can switch sides at will, Func brings their focus on functionality to the gaming headset category with their new headset, model FUNC-HS-260-1ST. [Q] Bluetooth headset problem topic

Hi all. I have an bluetooth headset nokia bh-212. It's old, but stll working good. So, i have been paired this with my Motorola Moto G XT1032 and Android 4.4.2 GB Stock on it. When i turn off display, i have every 60 sec. reconnect with my headset, it just lost signal and connect again. When moto g isn't inactive (display is turn on) - its good, no reconnects. Also, when i'm talking via headset there is also no problem.

How to fix it?

[Q] headset problem topic

Hi there.
I'm facing an issue with my note 2 since a few weeks.

When i plug in a headset with mic to make a call, the sound isn't redirected through the headset, it remains on the phone speaker.
This is quite annoying and it used tk work perfectly. I noticed that during the call when i plug in/plug out the headset, the sound goes tbrough the headset , but only for like 1 sec, then back to speaker.

I've tried with 2 diff headsets.

FYI, during music and vid playing, the sound goes though the headsets. Really odd issue.

i also face the issue that when i activate the BT, and try to stream the music to a BT device, the sound goes back to the speaker.
It used to work also but not anymore. Its not a pairing issue, i've tried many times.

I guess both issues are connected. Any help to solve those problems would be appreciated.

THX :)

[MOD] Headset Control on Stock ROM topic

This MOD will allow for Wired headset controls with your headset so that you can control volume, and track control. It will also allow for using the mic for voice control through Google Voice Search. I created this thread because on KitKat ROMs, headset control works automatically, but the KitKat ROMs have worse performance because they are not optimized for the Snapdragon 800 SoC or HTML5. Now you can go back to stock and have all the features you like, such as KnockOn and HTML5 support.

Two methods are presented. Method One requires downloading Xposed Framework and the Xposed Additions module, while the Method Two requires modifying a simple key map file.

Method 1.
Download and install Xposed Framework.
The first step requires a quick simple edit to the key map file in the system folder.
