I'm getting rid of a few Note 2 accessories as I upgraded to Note 3. Here is the list, most are like-new condition with a few wear signs (no tear however - view attached photos):
Spigen Snap Case (leather wallet with snap on/off hardcase feature)
Spigen White Ultra Fit Case
Spigen Brown Ultra Flip Case
Samsung OEM Flip Case
Samsung OEM Battery Dock with Extra Battery
I paid over 200$ a year ago for all these accessories, willing to post for quick sale... 55$ OBO I also have a used Note 2, with a shattered screen... maybe someone will be interested in it for parts! Let me know and I will post pics of it.
This has been going on for a while and hasnt bothered me too much, until now! ;)
The thing is my dock hasn't been charging for quite a while, battery is stuck at 0%. The light is blinking orange when the tablet is docked in and/or the charger is connected. The tablet itself charges just fine, also through the dock.
I have already opened the dock, nothing strange. Battery appears fine (not swolen or anything) and nothing weird with the connection. I have been flipping the SW1001 swithc like crazy as well (even though by now I don;t remember the default anymore, open or closed... or what open or closed actually is. Even though on the backside of the PCB there is some 'open' print).
I have tried charging the dock (both seperately as with tablet docked in) with switch in both connections (for quite a few hours) but without luck. The led is blinking the same way, no matter how I put the switch.
Also tried flashing stock firmware again, no luck.
* Is there a way to test the dock battery? (Apart from switching the dock and tablet battery for example).
* Does anyone know what the default posittion of the SW1001 swithc is? (This is the switch on the right side of the left pcb inside the keyboard dock).
* Any other tricks getting the dock battery to charge again?
I have been thinking of ordering a new battery (or possibly entire dock, might be able to get one second handed) but would really like to have tried everything else first :)
Just received my Air Dock in the mail and I've had mixed results using my Galaxy Note 3 with it. So rather than buying more cases and QI adapters, throwing stuff at the wall hoping something sticks, I thought we could all band together to find the best setup. This should be a thread for people to post their experiences and post links to the cases and wireless charging adapters they are using with the Air Dock and their GN3.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Air Dock, it's a new Indiegogo backed vehicle mount that employs nano-suction and QI wireless charging. It essentially uses a bunch of tiny suction cups (and some magnets apparently) to bond to your phone with out needing any kinds of harnesses or clips. The only issue seems to be that this tech requires some specific stuff to function well. The back of the phone needs to be high gloss plastic for it to stick well and it can't be too thick (i think .8mm is the max for it to still charge). For phones with matte backs (like the Nexus 5) magnets are an option.
Here is the link to the website and plenty of videos and pictures for those who don't know about it: TheAirDock.com
Ok, so I'll start with my setup and experience and hopefully others will follow along to find the best combination of accessories to get the most out of this dock.
Phone: Black Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon) -I tried it on the dock with no case and while it holds, I'm not very confident in it. I think it may be the texture of the soft touch back. Also there seems to be magnets in it, which I'm not sure there were supposed to be but they are responding to something in the phone
Case: Black Cruzerlite Hybrid Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 -Same deal, it sticks to it but it's not inspiring confidence. It's not a high gloss back, so that's probably the issue (bought it well before the Air Dock). The dock also comes with a magnet sticker to place between the case and phone, and that helps but I haven't been able to get it to register a charge at all with the case on.
QI adapter: Wireless Qi Power Receiver Car Charger NFC For Samsung Note 3 N9000 N9005 BC279 -I think this is the part that has created the biggest issue. It's only ever recognized the charger a handful of times, with and without the back cover on. And even when it recognizes it, it just flashes the "now wireless charging" dealy and then goes back to discharging immediately. I know that the adapter works because it charges fine on my desktop QI charging pad.
Hello all! As i saw earlier in february a user had made his own homemade sp dock, so i taught to myself to make one.
Here it's my concept and the main idea was to be a minimalistic and modular easy to mount dock. The material that i'm thinking is plexiglass (not hobbyglass, most of laser cutting workshops won't cut hobbyglass because it's made with vinyl and also plexi is more resistant). Soon i'll upload the drawing with measurements and the cad file ready to be cutted, but i need to figure out a way to make a modular holding for microcharger without affecting the dock and to do this i need to build a test model first.
I change the icons in the bottom dock bar to what I want. After a restart the icons reset to only messaging being in the bottom right. Whay do they change. Running stock unrooted 4.4.2
As the topic says, I'm getting a mobile dock firmware update notification, long press on the notification says it comes from Asus Services, so it seems to me to be totally legit and nothing abnormal, but I'm hesitant to do it since I've never on any of my other transformers received such a notification before.
Hi guys, a friend and I recently decided to try our luck at creating a custom dock for the nexus 5. What we're shooting for seems pretty ambitious, so I'd like to hear what you guys think.
For Dock Materials, we're thinking either wood or aluminum. I have access to a CNC Mill, plenty of aluminum and there are a few places I could get to make it in my area if need be. The same goes for wood. I'm not exactly well versed on how well aluminum would work because of the next big part of the dock. We plan to implement a wireless charger into it. Would heat from the charger be able to heat up the aluminum enough to damage the phone? I also need some help choosing a charger that could work in the dock. I'm thinking about the Ruix Wireless Charger (http://amzn.com/B00EBQ8RSG) because it seems reliable and fairly cheap. If anybody has experience with this charger, it would be greatly appreciated as well.
The second part of the design is an LCD display on the front. We've been thinking E-Ink displays because they're thinner and less battery-hungry than LCD displays. We have contacted a possible retailer and are waiting to hear back, but do you guys think this is a good way to go, or should we go with LCD? Another thing is actually programming the screen to work. I was thinking we could use Pebble Source Code and just trick the screen into thinking it's a pebble so we could use pebble apps and such. The screen will be a different size though, so i was thinking that could be our issue. I'm not quite fluent in C, but I'm learning at a fast rate and could probably change it up a bit if need be.
We were also considering adding speakers, but that's not a very high priority, so I won't bother you guys with that. Also, I forgot to mention, our 3D model also has a hole for routing a regular cable up to the phone in case it doesn't work with QI wireless charging.
Any help would be much appreciated! (Even if it's just an explanation to why it isn't feasible)
Does the N5 have a 11 pin USB connector? If so, do you think it might work with the Samsung Smart Dock accessory? I'm aware that I can use SlimPort to perform a similar function but there is not enough charge current to sustain long usage.
I use CM 10.1 everest nightly (latest version) and original Motorola UK keyboard and HD dock doesn't work properly. BT modul sometimes frozen and the display response for touches goes poor when the HD dock active.
Is there any solution for these problems or shall I go back to original 4.0.4 factory ROM?
Recently I've noticed that my phone isnt charging well on the charging dock. Often the battery just stagnates. Just now I've noticed that in fact stamina mode turns off when the phone is in the dock, which could explain why the phone doesnt charge well. I've never noticed it turn off before and never had an issue with the battery not charging well. Using 569 stock. Dont have smart connect on. Cant find anything in settings that is causing it to turn off. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.
