Dropped connection topic

This is sort-of OT from Chromecast talk but DLNA is mentioned lots.

At a relative's home which is on Comacst Xfinity. Two weeks ago while there, I'm on Android tab while another are on a Chromebook and both are losing internet connection. I'm using Chrome and I get a page reload error. WiFi shows still connected but turning it off/on fixes it. So there is me, Chromebook and a iPod running in the home.

Yesterday, same thing happens again! Later I'm casting a video from my tab using BubbleUPnP to a DLNA TV. The Chromebook is on and I'm using Chrome. I get the reload page and a bit later the video stops. Get it running again, it runs for 45 minutes, Chromebook is off, my tab is in sleep mode but minutes after the Chromebook is powered up the video stops. We gave up after that.

One might think it's a WiFi bandwidth issue, correct? The catch is at home on U-verse, my tab alone and I get the same reload page error while using Chrome. Wondering if this is a Google problem with WiFi since a Chromebook is nothing but Google Chrome like I'm using on my tab?? My tab has been on the same ROM version since last October.

Dropped Note 3 topic

My wife said she dropped her week old Note 3 in the parking lot. She said when it hit the ground the battery came out and got run over by a car. The outer glass is still good and is not broken. The inner LCD/digitizer is completely destroyed. Also the back plate where the battery goes is cracked across the phone and the battery is shot. When you look down the side of the phone it looks bent ever so slightly. All I can get out of her is “I just dropped it”. Does not sound like it to me. When I put in my battery it will power on and I can hear the sounds like it powered up. But then it shuts back down. No display at all will show up.

Does it sound like there is more than just the LCD/Digitizer broken? I called Samsung repair and they said it would be 6 for the display but did not know if anything else would need replacing. Should I send it to Samsung or is it a total loss?

Dropped -4ft topic

From the top of the fireplace down on to a marble hearth. Was turning away as i put it down and not watching, clearly didn't put it all the way on.

Still in one piece, everything working.

No case, only the stock screen protector it came with.

Thought it was a gonner, made a right crashing sound when it landed.

I am presuming I'm hosed, and replacing the glass will not get me going, given that not only is the screen cracked, but no response to touch.

Is that the case?

[Q] Sprint - best way to report dropped calls/network? topic

Hi all - I'm just wondering what the most effective way of reporting to Sprint areas where calls are dropped on a regular basis as well as areas where internet connectivity completely drops out. As an example there are areas on Hwy 101 in the SF Bay Area where phone calls consistently drop and I'd like to notify Sprint so that (hopefully) it will get fixed...

Thoughts? Is there an app for this ;)
