[Q] Windows 8.1 connection issue topic

Hello everyone.
I am having issues with my Note being detected by my PC, I have installed Kies 3 and when the Note is connected the connection process starts but fails ( I tried using camera mode instead of MTP and Kies says It must be MTP so something is connecting), Also the device is detected in the device manager of the PC and the Note itself says its connected by USB 3.0.
I have updated, un-installed re-installed, all the drivers and Kies. I have also used a standar USB 2 cable and most of the ports on my PC.

Does anyone know what's going on? could it be a USB 3 issue with Windows?

Dropped connection topic

This is sort-of OT from Chromecast talk but DLNA is mentioned lots.

At a relative's home which is on Comacst Xfinity. Two weeks ago while there, I'm on Android tab while another are on a Chromebook and both are losing internet connection. I'm using Chrome and I get a page reload error. WiFi shows still connected but turning it off/on fixes it. So there is me, Chromebook and a iPod running in the home.

Yesterday, same thing happens again! Later I'm casting a video from my tab using BubbleUPnP to a DLNA TV. The Chromebook is on and I'm using Chrome. I get the reload page and a bit later the video stops. Get it running again, it runs for 45 minutes, Chromebook is off, my tab is in sleep mode but minutes after the Chromebook is powered up the video stops. We gave up after that.

One might think it's a WiFi bandwidth issue, correct? The catch is at home on U-verse, my tab alone and I get the same reload page error while using Chrome. Wondering if this is a Google problem with WiFi since a Chromebook is nothing but Google Chrome like I'm using on my tab?? My tab has been on the same ROM version since last October.

[Q] data connection causes fc topic

OK so I've been running pacman ROM 03/10/14 for about 2 weeks have loved it. Tonight I turned airplane mode on and off to get a LTE signal again. I've have done this many times and have had no problems. To my surprise tonight it will not get a data connection at all now 3g or LTE and keeps fc (android phone). Does any one have any advice. Thanks in advance. If any other info is needed just ask. I'm on vanilla unicorn right now. Some how I lost my stock zvb recovery files. If someone could post a link for stock zvc files that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Sorry for being a noob.

tf101 connection issues topic

OK guys I have an issue
I now own a tf101 the issue I'm having is a connection issue
I recently purchased my tf101 used as a bargain price as our families 2nd tablet
The lady reset to factory before I purchased

After a couple days I began looking into rooting as an option to restore some functionality to this older tablet when connecting to my computer, I wasn't receiving any notification it was plugged in .... no new device detected ... no sounds..... nothing in device manager

It charges fine... and its an official Asus cord ( least it says Asus on it)
I also got the 40 pin to USB converter and it transfers data from a flash drive to the tablet fine movies pics etc...

I tried the cord on 3 different PC's, and 2 Macs nothing

Tried downloading and installing Asus sync and naked drivers neither helped
(Gonna get my friends cord this weekend see if it does anything)

I also tried most of all of this stuff in USB debugging mode , and toggling sync tool, as well in and not in apex mode

I tried a j5 wormhole USB to USB cord from the 40 pin converter still nothing...

I've read post after post about this topic however NONE have solutions

I had a friend suggest that it may have been rooted before she factory reset it and something got corrupted...

Some other info I'm sure I'll get asked about

Hi there
I have a xperia z with 4.4.2 PAC ROM
When I connect it 2 PC

It give nothing - not even charge
How ever when I connect to charger it charges

What is the problems any fix?

[Q] USB Tethering without data connection topic

Hi,

Using Android 4.0.4 on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note (SGH-I717).

I'm trying to set up a simple network between a computer and the android. This is because the android will access a web page on the computer. Unfortunately I don't have the option of rooting the phone. I've been trying to get USB tethering enabled without a SIM card or wifi connection but it always bugs me with a message "Insert SIM card to access network services". I've tried a couple of apps that try to enable it for you (Tether It, Tasker), but they do not work.
I note that tethering will work if you start with WiFi connected to an access point, enable tethering, then disconnect WiFi, but that's not good enough here because I may not have anything to connect to. I need to just be able to hit a button somewhere and have it work with no data connection.

Is this generally possible (even by writing an app)?

As an alternative, I know I can do a hotspot without data connection via "Hotspot Control", but it does not stay connected reliably (it may drop out after about 2 hours and this must run unattended). I think the unreliability is either the fault of the phone or the app. I haven't found any other hotspot apps that work without data.

I'm also aware that there are USB-powered WiFi routers that can be used but I'd like to look into USB tethering and android hotspots first.

Any ideas?

Anyone know an app that can hide the mobile data connection, I don't want to hide the icon itself.

[Q] Xperia S 3g Connection Problem topic

Hi friends,

When mobile data mode is open on my phone, if i don't touch phone for a while, it gets disconnected to 3g although there seems 3g icon and signal. After that, i am closing and opening mobile data and the problem gets resolved. But after a period same problem occurs again. My operator is the best operator in my country. There are no problems for signal.

Play Store No Connection Error topic

I have no Connection Error in Play Store, i can't see google play or play store in applications manager so that i can clear data and cache.
My phones date and time are also correct.
I'am using i9500 GALAXY S5 ANDROID 4.4.2 rooted.

Kindly tell me anything to fix my problem.

Google play store says no connection topic

Periodically, when I am on my phone, the signal indicator will change to white (as opposed to blue) and my google account will cease to sync. I can still access the internet, but the play store will give me a "no connection" message. The only way to fix this is to reflash the rom. Does anyone else have this problem?

I am having an issue with internet connection. I am connected to my wifi but none of my applications can load anything. When I open an app all it says is "error loading" or "Look at network connection". However, I can browse on chrome with no issue. I've tried restarting the device and connecting to other networks but that hasn't help. Was hoping one of you guys may know what's wrong.

Mobile Internet connection topic

Hi, sorry for disturbing, I have a weird connection problem and I am pretty sure it is not the internal antenna... When i use the phone for Internet, mail etc etc.... Everything goes fine it uses a 4G connexion and I almost never have a problem, I do have a problem Sometimes when I am not in a 4G covered area... Than i have to change the network modus to wcdma /gsm automatic because if I leave it on lte /wcdma /gsm the phone is jumping all the time between hspda /h/edge gprs... And this goes fast like that that connection fail... This problem stops when i change modus than I get a stable 3g connection.... A little bit disturbing but Okay..... The biggest problem is that I m always connected with my messenger services like for example WhatsApp.... When i have the phone in my hand no problem at all.... But when he stays on the table or in my pocket it is kinda weird.... Sometimes I don't recieve my messages and than suddenly when I pick up my phone I get like ten messages in once starting from like half hour before.... All this started like three weeks ago, network provider say there are no network problems, I didn't drop my phone or something... Internet connection is just acting very strange lately and this started before I updated to the official 4.4 rom and didn t change after...... I also have to tell that I don’t have problems at all with phone calls or texts messages..... It's just those two mobile Internet issues.... Since i m only good for using the phone and don't know nothing about the technical parts or something... I wanted to ask the question to all of you experts.... And wanted to ask for help and if possible a solution? I want to thank you in advance and hope you guys can help me soon.... Kind regards...

S4 Not Detecting PC Connection topic

Ok, so I found a few older threads on this, but no tips in them seem to work in my case. I can't seem to get my S4 to see the PC/USB connection and prompt to select Media Device or the like. The USB icon never even appears in the notification bar. The PC recognizes connection (USB tone sounds) and shows device ready to use, but phone never gives the option. Doesn't seem to matter if USB Debugging is checked or not, or anything else that I can find so far. Here's the things I can generally eliminate:

2 different USB cables worked on wife's S4 on two different PCs. Neither cable or PC worked with my S4
Tried reinstalling Samsung USB drivers just to be sure
Cold booted phone
Tried unchecking and re-checking USB debugging (also tried with it unchecked)

So when we take in working fine on wife's S4, I'd generally guess that we can eliminate cable and PC from the potential problem list. Phone is currently on stock rom, but rooted. Outside of that and freezing VZ Support, Knox, and VZ Tones, no other modifications to the OS. At this point, I'm pretty stumped. Any suggestions on other steps to try?

why CC cannot be used if no internet connection topic

just wondering why CC is not working if we have no internet connection. for example for last several days I have a problem with my ISP and
we dont have internet connection but our local WIFI is working, and I was noticed when we have no internet CC is not working (I cannot play movie locally through extension or even cast photo using BubbleUPnP).

is it normal like this? I have rooted CC using latest eureka image.

Unless the internet was (very) recently in use by the browser, it seems my z1c doesn't believe it has an internet connection in Spotify. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a fix besides reloading a browser page? That works, but its very annoying.

Happens in both stamina mode and non-stamina mode.

So my friend has a P999 phone but a bit different model. If I flash roms from this thread he has a problem where the other person can't hear him when gets a call. Only one rom worked for him, the one from cyanogenmod. Somebody has any ideas? :confused:

[Q] CM11 WiFi Connection Issue topic

Hey guys! I have only just joined XDA Developers so please excuse me if I have posted this thread in the wrong area. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) running stock Jellybean firmware (4.1.2 ITV) but as you all know the stock firmware for this device is full of bugs and freezes often. I successfully rooted my device and installed Team Canjica's CM10.2 ROM (4.3) from the thread on XDA Developers but the WiFi wasn't working. I then installed Maclaw's CM11 ROM (KitKat) because I thought that might solve the issue but it didn't. Here are the details:

• Device scans for nearby wireless routers.


• I type in the password for my home router.


• Device saves router. "Saved, Secured" message displayed.


• I tap on my home router in the list to connect.


• Device says "Connecting" for a couple of seconds and then goes back to saying "Saved, Secured".

I browsed through the forums and some users suggested switching WiFi Frequency to Auto and turning off WiFi Optimisation but neither of those methods worked for me. The ROM was installed successfully and all other features are working properly so I don't think that is the issue. And my router settings are also alright since I am able to connect to it from my Nexus 7 (2013) properly. Can someone please provide me with a working solution for this issue? I will start receiving very high data usage bills soon because my data plan isn't unlimited. Thank you!

HELP! Google Play giving me No Connection & I tried EVERYTHING! topic

Woke up this morning, and I start Play Store and I get No Connection / Retry does nothing.

I tried clearing data from App Info - cleared Dalvik/Cache - still no progress...

I literally didn't change anything on my phone, just woke up and it's like this...

Please help!

PS. My internet works fine other than that (I posted this from my phone via Wi-Fi) and 3G works too...

[Q] Moto G Connection Problems topic

Anyone else facing the same issue as me in Moto G? For me If I am using 2 sim cards at the same time, the connection frquently drops. It will show no network for 10-15 seconds for both sim cards and then come on again. When the network goes, it shows that the Flight Mode is activated.
