Confused topic

I'm running mk4 and I'm having a he'll of a time figuring out how to get root and a recovery on this phone. Can someone point me to a step by step thread on how to root 4.3 with Knox please?

A bit confused as to which version I should have topic

I had this device for only 2 weeks so I'm a bit confused as to which version I should have. By doing a little research I'm guessing .290 is the old version and .136 is the new version.

But why does my phone say I'm running 290 but yet I'm on the the latest 4.3 (^_-) also I noticed on the display options screen I don't have white balance should I have that?

Hi all, Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am on Viper Rom on a SM-N900T 4.3, AND I want to try a KIT KAT rom, but I believe I need to go back to a stock rom first? So I have a few questions...I just got the phone and have been reading alot on it, but to me it gets confusing, and I dont want to brick the phone. I am rooted as well.


Where can I get the stock rom?

I have TWRP version 2.6.3.8 will this work to flash the stock KIT-KAT rom?

I am on BASEBAND N900TUVUBMI7

I read somewhere in XDA that if you go to KITKAT you can't go back to Jellybean?

Just a little confused here, and all the reading just confuses me with all the different models, roms, kernels, etc etc...

[Q] New Droid Maxx User, a bit confused..... topic

I just purchased a new Droid Maxx and I'm finding it a bit confusing here at XDA. Per System Panel app (Because it's not listed in the "About Phone" section of the settings), I have model XT1080.

1) Is the "Droid Maxx" the same as "Droid Razr Maxx"?
2) This phone has been great out of the box (since bloatware can be disabled), so has rooting/custom ROM use been favorable for most?
3) I don't see a "Droid Maxx" section here at XDA, so it appears that I would follow the "Ultra" section for development info?

Hope these don't seem to be stupid questions but I've had a rooted Dinc2 for a while and have used this site for everything and it has been great. Just some incredible minds and resources here. I just want to make sure I'm going to the right place and wanted some feedback on rooting it.

OS 4.1.2
Boot Loader N7105XXDMC3

I always used ROM Manager to install new ROMs. No secret there, just download the zip to sd card, wipe everything, and boot the new ROM.

From what I read, this ROM needed the following:

- 4.3 bootloader
- MK5 Kernel
- TWRP to flash it

Can a good soul help me on the steps I should do coming from my current ROM?

Couldn't I just do the ROM manager way to flash this new ROM?

I did not get the steps necessary.

Sorry if there is a thread somewhere like this, I really tried to search. Thanks alot everyone.

A little confused. topic

OK so I'm fairly new to xda. I know how to navigate a little due to the fact I have a nexus 7 2012. Other than that all of my phones have been prepaid and I usually would reside in Android forums. I'm not sure exactly which model number is the at&t variant for the g pro. Mines ships later on today and I want to get rooted and get a ROM on here really fast. Just wanted to know which ROMs were safe to flash and what not. The help would be greatly appreciated

I'm confused topic

My Dear community,

I've been around the xda forums since wm5 and progressed to android with 7 different android phones between back then and now.

I have my s4 now for quite some time and started of with the omega Rom which gave me some sort of safety because I was just flashing update after update. I was never satisfied with its performance and I figured it's because everyone is flashing custom kernels and optimizing their phones. I just don't know much about kernels unfortunately so always sticked to settings and kernels that came with the roms.

Then came along the 4.4 roms. I started off with jamals ge Rom and was happy with the increase in performance. Now he discontinued development and I just don't know what Rom I can take to have good performance and battery life.

Also what kernel can I take and most of all how do I optimize it to get speed and decent battery life.

What Rom kernel and settings configurations do you use? Is there a fool proof manual to follow to get optimal performance?

Please help me out here to get out of limbo. I'm romless and clueless :(

Confused on which *rever back to stock* method i should use VS980 topic

So i just got my replacement device since the other one has been locking and unlocking itself its been really annoying. I just got the replacement device meaning i need to send back the other one but i need to return it back to stock. I did some research and i dont know which method to use. I found like 3 and i dont want to use the wrong one.

I have TWRP 2.3.4 installed with malladus rom but im still on the 11A build. So which guide should i use?

Confused: not all contacts are shown in People app... topic

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to find answer to simple question:
Why not all of my contacts from Phone are in People app?

They all created with my google account...
But I can see contact in the contact list of dialer and can not see the same contact in People app...

Is there any other way to show ALL my contacts?
