[Solved] Can't click (install) on APK, then found the reason topic

This is an old problem, but the causes are so plenty it's a doozy. So here's yet ANOTHER cause of "can't click (Install)" button and its solution.

Any way, just updated to SlimKat. And no, I did NOT have official JB installed before, just official ICS, Safestrap, and had been running on CM10 ever since. But that's not the important issue.

Tried to reinstall some APKs, like Amazon store, some Xposed modules... Except none of them will let me click the INSTALL. And yes, 3rd party apps install is active, and I even turned off verify apps.

All of the previous advice I can find says look for screen filter or brightness apps or overlay buttons. I checked. Ain't got any that's active.

I was using PermissionDog to check anything that uses an overlay and uninstall them one by one, when something hit me (not literally). All of these are overlays of some sort. What overlay did I add recently? Then I looked at my screen, then slapped my forehead... hard.

I had enabled "battery bar" that comes with BatteryMix. This optional bar shows you a horizontal 2 px high bar on the very top that shows you your battery level. That is an overlay!

I turned that off, and voila, I can install APKs again. So let that be a lesson to you. :)

Running PA 4.0+ LG G2 Internet Connectivity problems (solved) topic

I've seen a few people in the official thread created by houstonn on the 4.0+ PA for the G2 having problems where all internet connectivity would cut out. This is a relevant place for my post because it is in a general discussion on PA, I can't post in the official forum because I don't have the required amount of posts on the forum.

I was having that problem but dug around and figured out that Adblock Plus was the problem. While browsing pages in either the stock internet browser or Google Chrome and running into a page that was listed in ABP's ad LINK, all downloads and internet connectivity would stop.

I put the pieces together, not knowing originally that I was visiting pages with high advertisement traffic and tried it with Adblock Plus disabled, I had no internet connectivity problems at all after that.

So if anyone has any elaborations or questions, please post here. I am not sure if this is just a thing for PA 4.0+ Beta 6 or if it has anything to do that I'm running the ART framework. I just want to inform some of the users in the original LG G2 thread for PA 4.0+ that this might be your problem.
Thanks.

[SOLVED] - USB not working on Android - After Unlock topic

I just wanted to share this on XDA.
I bought a used Galaxy Note 2, that had just been unlocked.
When I tried to connect to a PC with a USB cable, the USB icon was not showing up.
After ruling out hardware issues I started noticing posts on other forums about Qualcomm USB Settings.
On a Galaxy Note 2 you go to your phone keypad and type *#7284# (this magically goes to a USB menu)
I clicked on Qualcomm USB Settings and chose MTP (nothing was checked in my case). Pressed ok, then back and .... this solved my problem. When I connect I have my USB icon and I can share picture with my PC.

Apparently ... the USB menu is used during the unlocking procedure.

Note: not all phones have the same USB menu code. I also have a S4 and the code for the USB menu is *#0808#.
I could not find a site with all the codes.

Hope it helps someone else

Double boot solved topic

My T999L would boot twice every time I would turn my phone on or restart it. At least it wasn't a bootloop I guess. Well after a month of searching I finally think I found a solution to this. And it also seems to have fixed the issue with Android System (UID) Asking for root. This fix was for a Note 3 experiencing the same issues. I haven't seen anyone else here Mentone this problem, but just in case, here it is.

Go to:

Settings > Connections > WiFi > (menu soft button) Advanced

Uncheck 'Always Allow Scanning' (5th item down on Advanced settings page).

Go back to Home screen, long-hold power button, and select 'Restart' from the dialog box that appears.

Hopefully this will resolve the problem for you. The 'Always Allow Scanning' advanced setting under WiFi isn't really necessary and can cause boot loop issues. My Note 3 began doing this and removing the external SD card would stop the boot loop from occurring, thus leading me to assume the problem was related to the SD card is some way. This turned out to not be the case.
