Had screen replaced, now not as responsive topic

I got my S3 from a coworker. It had a cracked screen. He had a replacement for it but didn't want to take the time to do it. I brought the screen and S3 to a pretty reputable shop here. For and a few hours, he replaced the glass.

I get it home and I'm shocked at the responsiveness. Prior to the screen change, it was fine. No issues with lag. Now it detects touch about 95% of the time. I know that someone will say "well that's pretty good" but if you play games that require timing and touching, 95% is not going to cut it.

Before I go back to the shop and ask them to take a look at it, I wanted to know if this is common. I found an obscure reference on a forum that aftermarket glass is no where near the quality of OEM (that's a given). However, I don't think the poster meant it would have this much issues.

Is this a result of inferior glass or did the repair shop mess something up? It seemed like he rushed it because when you look at the "back" arrow, it is not perfectly centered in the opening (part of the arrow is covered up).

One thing I did note was that it seemed like the glue may needed dry time because after pressing on a specific portion of the screen a few times in a row, it because overall more responsive. So I decided to put a book on top of it like a weight to "press" the glass and glue together. Probably a fools task but it made me feel better.
