HTC ultrapixel superzoom detail overlay topic

Hello I was just wondering if people think it would be theoretically possible to create a superzoom mod for the HTC one camera like is seen with the oppo find 7. As far as I can tell it uses multi image overlay (not sure if they are offset by ois) to enhance the detail level beyond the mega pixel count of the sensor. I think it is a bi cubic combination algorithm. Theoretical we could gain much more detail from our photos... Just wondering if anyone has a reason whether this should be possible or not.
