[Q] Chromecast displaying grey bars topic

Ok so i only had my chromecast for a day with flawless use, left it plugged in via wall outlet (tv may have been through typical use while i was at work) then i changes it to input to watch a movie on netflix and i notice the grey bars at the side of the tv ( they were originally brown bars then randomly changed)... i'm very irritated and highly doubt this was an overheating issue because it wasnt really hot when i touched it
