Hi there,
So I'm new to these forums and very much new to tinkering with my phone so apologies for my general ignorance/incompetence, but here's my problem.
I rooted my GT-i9305 (with Android 4.3 and stock ROM) successfully then tried to change the kernel (from the stock one) to the boeffla v5.1 for the i9300 Android v4.3 (not the i9305 I know!) via Odin. Everything seemed to be going OK but upon trying to reboot with the new kernel the phone simply got stuck on boot (ie at the 'Samsung S3 GT-i9305' in white letters on black background).
I have since tried wiping cache/factory reset and also flashing a new kernel to the phone via Odin (have tried the supposed correct Boeffla v5.2 for i9305) to try and get it to boot again, but nothing has got it past the boot phase. Note that I can go into download mode and recovery mode (ie power+home+volume up).
I have read that the solution would be to download the correct stock firmware from sammobile then flash that onto the phone via Odin, then it should work? I am downloading the correct stock firmware as we speak but I have particularly slow download speeds where I live so in the meantime I thought I'd ask if what I'm doing is correct and if there's anything I could otherwise do that would unbrick my phone?
Also the most up-to-date stock firmware I can find for my model/region is Android v4.1.2. Seeing as I was previously on v4.3 will this be an issue?
Thanks in advance!
