Remapping Double Tap Home Button to Voice Search topic

I recently flashed a 4.4 kitkat ROM and it appears Wanam doesn't support modifying the home button on 4.4. I tried using the Home2 app but there is a noticeable delay whenever the home button is pressed. What other alternatives are there? Is there a 'hard' method of modifying system files?
