SCH-I605 ON 4.3 Root anyone? topic

I have the Note 2 SCH-I605 running 4.3 and am having a hard time rooting the phone. I have read many post here, some say you cant root once you do the OTA to 4.3. And others say you can with different methods but none have seemed to work. I have turned my phone off then held the home button, power button and the volume down button together and that works. Then I press the volume up and that works. But when I connect the phone to the computer and open Odin3 v1.85 it opens and closes before I can do anything or even read anything. Anyone else having this problem or know of the best way to root my phone?
