I have never enabled the roaming data option in the phone but in my trip to the states, there was tiny data usage everyday and I was charged for around US!!! I guess it is AGPS's data download but there's no way confirm.
it's the first time I have this issue with android phones. anyone seen similar issue?

Google Play Services - High Data Usage? topic

Hi, recently I have observed almost 3GB of Google Play Services usage.

I am reading in many threads that this issue is caused by OTA updates constantly downloading. The only solution reported is to download some application to disable it. However, apparently this causes a wake lock? Also, this is reported in version 4.3. I am on Cataclysm ROM on 4.4, so not sure if the solution would be applicable in this case.

Any help is appreciated.

hello, well like the title says, I'm looking for an app that shows me when an app was last used or the exact time when it was used, like "whatsapp was last used at 3:56 am", I have looked around the forum but i couldn't find anything, thanks in advance.

SMS apps with least battery usage.. topic

I've been using Hangouts lately for SMS needs but lately, I have not been receiving a notification for every new message. I have all the default notification settings turned on and I still won't get every notification... :confused:

Essentially, I'm asking what messaging apps we all use on the HTC One that don't hog the battery. I want to change messaging apps but I feel that the popular messaging apps on the Play Store are huge battery drains with their hundreds of useless functions and features.

I'd like to use the default messaging app but I can NOT stand the 5 lines of the message editor that show up every time I go to reply to a text message. Its just a nit-picky thing, but it bothers me that it wastes all that real estate on the screen with empty space...

Can't wait to see what everybody thinks and I'll be conducting some battery tests in the days to come as well. :good:

[Q] CM11 nightly, how to view mobile data usage, not just wifi? topic

So I just updated to the latest nightly [CM11 2014-03-16 jewel], and I was hoping there would be "Mobile data" and "Wifi data" usage tab, under Data usage. But there isn't, it seems it's only tracking wifi usage.

here is the thing though, currently I'm on PagePlus without data [it would be /MB], but I'm thinking of trying out their monthly plan [/month for 500MB, 2000 Min, 3000 Txt] but I would want to be able to track my data if I did.

So I currently have mobile data disabled, could that be why there is no mobile data tab?

if anybody has any idea, by all means, I would be grateful for any help.

My LG G2 is the D802. BRAND NEW not many apps on it... but the RAM usage is always above 60% ... and it effects the Device's speed...
What can i do to speed up the device? and free ram?

Battery usage topic

My friend just bought the Xperia M and he is not very happy with the battery life.
This is his battery stats, should the device be awake 24/7?
He is a very light user.



Is this supposed to be normal, his battery lasts around 1 day and 15 hours without recharging in between.

I checked my battery usage this morning and I noticed that Go SMS Pro is using like 50%. Have no idea why it's doing this, I've never noticed it before.

[Q] Cyanogenmod Voice+ Data usage topic

Hi, I searched everywhere but couldn't find an answer. I have voice+ enabled on my phone, and it works perfectly fine. The only concern I have is data usage. When I check the data usage it's the top app on the list and nearly all of it's usage is background data. I don't have unlimited data, so this is disheartening if it's true. Does anyone know if voice+ constantly checks google voice online?

[Q] battery usage in 4.3 samsung based roms topic

My issue with Samsung 4,3 based roms is this:

Badass battery monitor always shows kernel on top of my battery usage charts. Normally on 4.1.2 based roms the kernel would run for about 12-15 minutes over the course of battery being used form 100 to about 10 % but on 4.3 on the same usage kernel is runnning for close to an hour. Also Android OS always tops my battery drainage charts irrespective of what kernel plus rom I use.

With the same set of apps I had pretty good battery life on 4.1.2 but not so good on 4.3.

BBS also does not show any weird behavior.

Any pointers as to how I can prevent kernel usage from being so high?

Battery drain on SGS2 and 100 percent WiFi usage topic

Starting with the latest couple of nightlies, I'm experiencing battery drain. When checking this out with Better Battery Stats, the only suspect is full time wireless usage, while the network stats don't show any applications actually using it.
Are more people seeing this problem? Phone is always running the latest nightly, and has had a full wipe a week ago.
