Hello folks,
This is a "best ROM/kernel combo" kind-of thread, but instead of asking which one is better, I present my solution to you:
ROM: MoonBreaker 3.5 LINK
Kernel: Nemesis 6.3 LINK
After trying 5 kernels and over 20 ROMs on my Xperia P, custom and stock-based, I have decided to stay on the above combo, explanations below.
FAQ:
Q: Why choose a stock-based ROM over custom ROM?
A: While CM11 KK 4.4.2 has interesting features, is the most up-to-date and has really good memory management, there are still bugs in it that affect it's functionality: the camera is weak compared to Cybershot camera in stock (and no, don't tell me to install Lenovo camera, been there, done that, it still doesn't compare), A2DP over BT/HDMI/FM radio do not work and battery drain is average. If these are a deal-breaker to you as they are to me, then you'd want to find the best stock-based ROM.
Q: Why choose Moonbreaker 3.5 which is a pretty old stock-based ROM over newer, flashier Honami MW HD 8.0, Enigma 6.4 etc.?
A: Because it is the only slimmed down stock-based ROM I've found (280mb vs. 450-500mb for the other stock-based ROMs) without losing functionality. It also has the most available RAM at boot and over time (500mb free at boot, at least 400mb free over time, while using Whatsapp + Facebook Messenger + Greenify). IT REALLY HELPS with multitasking and newer games, also low RAM usage translates into low battery drain. While it may be old, it is still based on the latest .100 JB stock ROM, it just doesn't have the latest Honami mods.
Q: Why choose Nemesis 6.3 over other kernels, including stock JB kernel or older versions of Nemesis?
A: It is the only one that has 850mb available instead of 800mb (trust me, IT COUNTS), it's fairly fast and battery optimizations are one of the best in it.
Q: What "special" settings to use after installation?
A: Processor speed 200mhz min/800mhz max (1200mhz max for 3D games, didn't play any during the tests), Lionheart/ROW combo, brightness was set a bit above the lowest value (non-auto), 3g was ON between 8:30 AM and 1:00 AM (only at night it was OFF), never used 2g (it glitches on my phone with Orange network provider). Stamina Mode was set to start at 30% battery with Whatsapp as exclusion and Low battery mode was set to start at 10%. If you install Facebook app, make sure to greenify it, that's what I did (for notifications I used MB Notifications by Mike Bannion, search on Google Play). Also check force gpu rendering in developer settings for better performance.
I'll let the screenshots do the talking:

PS: The Quadrant score is obtained at 1000mhz.
