Droid Mini GSM reception topic

Question for all people running Droid Mini on GSM networks. How is your reception? I have my Droid on my desk and the phone is saying 50% signal strength. My nokia next to it, on the same carrier is 100%. In my garage my nokia has a signal, my droid hasn't.

settings says UMTS = -69 dBm

Is this normal?
