[Q] Samsung Galaxy Nexus Battery Port Problems topic

I got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with a really annoying battery problem from a friend. It cannot hold a charge at all, and shuts down if bumped or unplugged, and will not turn on unless plugged in. I think it has a problem with the battery port/connector, but I am not sure. The battery has four of those little gold things, while the phone has only three. Looking closely at the gold things on the phone, there are spaces for four, but one appears to be missing. Here is a picture of the phone without the battery:

As you can see, there are only 3 gold things. Is there any way to fix this or is the phone a bright paperweight?
