Transfer files from one Android phone to another via USB cable topic

Hello everyone.
I wonder if I could somehow transfer files from an Android phone to another one using its OTG capabilities and a USB cable. (not over wifi, bluetooth etc.)
I need this because I have Nexus 4 (8gb) and another phone with microsd slot, which I could use for storage purposes.

Charging via Micro USB cable or USB 3.0??? topic

I had a question. I know our phones can charge using a standard Micro USB cable but will it charge at the full 2 amps or is a USB 3.0 cable required to utilize the full 2 amps?

I am using original Samsung charger.

Thanks!

OEM Charger and USB cable topic

Does anybody know where I can find the OEM Nexus 5 charger and USB cable? The original charger that came with my N5 was misplaced a long time ago (a relative came to visit and took it with them, thinking it was theirs) and I've been stuck with crappy chargers and crappy cables ever since. All the regular USB cables charge at a snail's pace, all the chargers I find don't seem to work either. I'm sick of trying to find a replacement, I'm sick of waiting 4-6 hours for my phone to fully charge. I just want the ORIGINAL OEM charger and cable. No more messing around, no more hoping that I'll get lucky every time I buy a random charger/cable off the internet. I just want the original.

Thanks.

Normal Factory Cable Process Does Not Work topic

I have searched and read a bunch and have not stumbled upon my situation.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my use of a factory cable.
Bought a cable from SkOrPn - great guy and very helpful. We thought maybe the problem was the cable so he sent out another. TO BE CLEAR, ISSUE IS NOT WITH SkOrPn's CABLE. Both cables yield the same results.
So, here's the deal:
I have 2 KFs that where bone stock. I used KFU to root, install TWRP and FFF 1.5 Bootloader. All worked fine and I subsequently installed CM11. So all is good.
Now when I try to use the Factory Cable as instructed

Quote:

Factory cable - Using a factory cable is the most straightforward method of enabling fastboot mode on the Kindle Fire and it will work with any bootloader. With the device off, plug the cable into the Kindle Fire, then the computer and the device will boot up directly into fastboot mode. No other user intervention is required.

But when I plug the Fcable into the fire it immediately powers on and boots normally, skipping fastboot mode. This happens with or without plugging the other end into the PC.
So SkOrPn suggested I try plugging into the PC 1st and then the fire. This does boot to fastboot mode. So now I unplug the Fcable and using a "normal" cable plug the fire back into my PC. Now I get an error message saying that the USB device cannot be installed and of course KFU/ADB/fastboot does not recognize my device. So I am (or appear to be) in fastboot mode, but can't communicate with my fire. Keep in mind I have KFU working, so I know drivers are installed.
Any thoughts?
And the above is the same for BOTH fires.

Luckly I am fully rooted with FFF 1.5 and CM11, so I really dont need to use the factory cable. But I would like to figure this out BEFORE I need it!

[Q] File transfer using usb cable topic

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I didn't found any answers regarding my issue.
So how can I transfer files from my pc using the pad's USB cable?
On my Sony phone with ics, it was enough to enable usb debugging mode and the pc sees it as a flash drive, using usb mass storage.
But here it seems there's no mass storage mode, only mtp and ptp which I don't like.
So what options do I have to actually see my 64 gb card when I connect the pad to the pc? Is it possible?
Cause even with debugging mode enabled it doesn't change anything, still have to use windows explorer and it's working very hard. Any help would be much appreciated.

[Q] USB 3.0 Cable? topic

I noticed that the USB cable which came with my phone is a regular MicroUSB 2.0 cable. Looking at the phone USB connector, I see there are a couple of more pins on the both left and right side. Also on the specs there is USB3.0 support. Does someone know where to find an USB 3.0 cable for this phone?

Thank you

[HELP] Factory cable - Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 topic

Using a factory cable, I got my bricked Kindle Fire HDX 7" to show up as a "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in device manager. Does anyone know what to do now?

Also, does any developer want to do anything while I have my HDX in this mode? I got a replacement for this tablet from Amazon so I don't care if this tablet is damaged (hopefully for a good cause).

Charging with USB Cable topic

I had recently purchased the C6502. At work I do not have AC power outlet to charge the phone. So I generally used to charge my old smartphone (LG Optimus 4X HD) with a blackberry USB cable. I used to charge my old phone by connecting to the monitor's USB port using the blackberry cable. Though the phone showed as "Slow charging", it served the purpose.

But now using the same Blackberry USB cable and the same USB port, if i try to charge the C6502, it just lights up the screen and does not show any charging indication or the notification LED light.

Am I missing something here or the phone charges only with the original Sony provided USB cable?

Note: The same USB cable and the USB port work perfectly fine for other smart phones my colleagues are having like Galaxy grand, Lumia 610, HTC Desire SV etc. Of course when connected to the usb port all these phones are showing as slow charging, but they do charge slowly. But my XZL does not even charge. So I am definitely sure the cable and the port are perfectly fine.

Is there a way I can charge my XZL with the USB cable using the USB port?

PS3 Controller via OTG cable topic

So a buddy of mine gave me an OTG cable and I wanted to hook my PS3 controller to it, to try out some racing games. I downloaded Need For Speed Most Wanted but the settings don't seem to allow using anything except a "moda" controller or the phone. My buddy said it worked for him to play on his HTC One but I'm not sure what game he used. So my question is, will this work on the G2, and the issue is just game related?

[Q] LCD + SIM Flex Cable Connectors Broken - Suggestions? topic

First time poster here and wanted to start by saying thanks to the members on here who have spent countless hours teaching others how to root, unlock, flash custom ROMs, etc. Your guidance has provided lots of fun in the Android world. :)

Recently, the LCD glass screen had shattered on my HTC One, and I had purchased a replacement front and back. Upon transferring the motherboard + the secondary chip to the new housing, I accidentally broke off the flex cable connectors for the LCD screen and SIM card. Upon completion of reassembly, I crossed my fingers as I pressed the power button, only to be met with the initial power-on vibration and no image on the LCD. Unfortunately, I can't verify if the SIM slot is working without the LCD, but I'd assume it isn't.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my story. I've supplemented it with pictures indicating where I messed up. The first picture is the motherboard. Compare the two connectors contained in the red circle. The left one has the white tab, while the right is missing its white tab. The second picture is the SIM connector to the secondary board. As you may notice yet again, the white connector is missing. If anyone has legit/illegit solutions to this problem, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance!
