[Q] Nexus 7 2012 reboots topic

My Nexus 7 16GB 2012 has started to randomly reboot, it's running 4.4.2 and has been fine for months. This morning I switched it in, turned off the Airplane Mode and after 30 seconds or so it locked up, then reset. This happens every time I turn off Airplane Mode and switch on WiFi.

I'm wondering if there is some sort of corrupt RAM causing the issue? I've tried to do a Factory Reset, but this also fails and I end up back at square one. So I tried Nexus Root Tookit to go back to stock (all I've done previously is unlock the bootloader, no root). This also fails:

sending 'bootloader' (3911 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.516s]
writing 'bootloader'...
FAILED (remote: (InvalidState))
finished. total time: 0.745s

Any suggestions on what to try next?

This may of course be a hardware fault, the device was bought in Summer 2012 on release.

[Q] 2012 Nexus 7 - CyanogenMod fix the laggy speed? topic

Does changing over CyanogenMod on a 2012 Nexus 7 Wifi 32GB, fix the extreme bad performance?

Or is it time to junk it?
There is 25+ GB free on the device, ran the memory cleanup apps, still junk. Any of the apps I try and use random freeze for 5+ seconds at a time, it is slower than my nexus 4 by far. The nexus 4 runs circles around the nexus 7.

Will installing cyanogenmod fix this?

[Q] Nexus 7 (2012 WiFi) multiwindow? topic

I was wondering when the multi window feature will be available for the Nexus 7 2012 WiFi, or if there are any custom Omniroms which have the feature?

Help nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 one with WiFi issues topic

I have a nexus 7 2012 WiFi only and a 2013 lte. The first gen and my HTC one model sign into my work WiFi just fine. The 2013 lte model does not want to connect through the internet login portal.
All software is unmodified and completely stock without root on all devices. Both nexus 7s are running kit Kat. The lte model has a tmobile SIM. I've also tried to remove the SIM and connect... Still no good

Any solutions? Anyone here of something like this happening ?

As Steven's pointed out, this looks more like a Windows permissions
issue. However, it would still be worth identifying what's going on, as
I haven't run Python on a 2012 box (and I doubt if many other people
have either). I'm getting a VM run up to try it out but that will take a
while.

It may be that some hardened security is preventing Python from reading
its own files. Could you, please, do the simplest of imports which
fails, and post the traceback from the console in its entirety? (In
other words, something like this):

"""
Python 3.3.3 (v3.3.3:c3896275c0f6, Nov 18 2013, 21:18:40) [MSC v.1600 32
bit (Intel)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import willnotimport

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
ImportError: No module named 'willnotimport'
>>>

"""

It would be good to know whether *anything* imports, ie whether stdlib
imports work, or whether it's just user-installed modules.

Thanks

TJG

This does not appear to be a Python problem. This appears to be a generic
Windows permissions problem. My guess is that you've made sure that the
Python .exe is executable by all users, but the standard library files
are only readable by the Administrator user.

[Q] i need help installing nexus 7 2012 to stock with no backup topic

hello, this is my first post and I'm fairly new to the android community.

I need help restoring my nexus 7 2012 back to stock. I had the Paranoid Android ROM, I was trying to go back to stock in hopes of installing Kit Kat but I didn't back up first, now I'm stuck. I can still access TWRP but no luck with my computer recognizing the nexus 7.

Any help would be appreciated..

thank you thank you
