Does someone know what should Ido to make wifi hotspot work ? I really need it. I'm on the stock ICS rom, Root, not using at&t sim card, s-on.

T-Mobile native wifi hotspot hack topic

Prerequisites
1. Rooted T-mobile G Flex
2. SQlite Editor app(.99) probably a free alternative out there
3. Hotspot Widget from Google Play

Instructions
1. Open SQlite Editor look in - /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db then click global scroll down to field "tether_dun_required" edit the original value set 1 and change it to 0.
Note: Every time the phone reboots the original value defaults back to 1 so you will need to change the value back to 0 every time the phone reboots.
2. Only enable tether through the widget that you downloaded earlier. For some reason if you use the official t-mobile widget it won't work.
3. I don't have a working G Flex to test but you may have to use UA spoofer for chrome and set the browser to safari or something mobile.

my handset has a problem sharing its wifi hotspot. current build is model:d821(E) rom:dirtyunicorn. do anynone face the same problem? i have tried using my laptop or even my friends handset to try to connect to my hotspot. some might be able to connect to the hotspot but unable to get any internet services.

Hotspot shield is not working topic

Recently i am having issues with hotspot shield. Whenever i click on "protect my connection" icon, it doesnt connect and shows "cancelled". I have tried reinstalling the app two to three times but with same result. I am providing the video for this and a screenshot. Please help me or give me the working alternate for this app.

Hello guys,

Few days back i have updated my HOX+ with 4.2.2 and sense 5.everything is working fine but my USB TETHERING,Bluetooth tethering and wifi hotspot is not working.i have purchased HOX+ from ebay and i am using it in India.I have read in several thread in XDA that i have to edit telephone.db file.i have tried to find out that file in my phone but i have not got that.Then afterward i came to know that for getting that file in my phone,my phone need to be rooted.then i have installed ROOT CHECKER from play store and it is showing that "this device does not have proper root access".what to do next please explain step by step i am NOOB :(

Prior to upgrading to 4.4.2 I was able to tether my device by modifying the APN and using the hotspot widget. After several attempts to recreate these settings I am unable to. My device is currently not rooted. Does anybody have a working method?

I was just curious if anybody had figured out a working Native Hotspot Mod for 4.4.2 NAB, I just flashed the N900PVPUCNAB_N900PSPTCNAB_N900PVPUCNAB_HOME.TAR file freeza posted, rooted, and then i tried the method that originally worked with 4.3 where you switch out the services.jar and the services.odex with the same modded copies. I rebooted to get a bootloop at the pulsing Samsung screen. I reflashed the TAR file and now i back to the way it was before.

Ok, following the lead of @crawrj, I have put together the Native HotSpot for the NAE update.

I flashed these using the newest philz recovery (6.15.4), but I think for these, the recovery you use doesn't really matter. Let me know if you have issues.

Not many of you are probably DeOdexed at this point, but both versions are available.

NANDROID backup first please !!! Just because they worked fine for me doesn't mean there might not be problems !!!

Mobile hotspot not working on my phone topic

I'll just do bullet points, because it's easier that way.

-Using a Verizon LG G2 (VS980) running CarbonROM
-Yes, I still have plenty of data left for the month
-Yes, I have tethering enabled on my contract, although that wouldn't matter since I wasn't using Verizon's official app
-Tried some hotspot app for root users, didn't work
-Tried the one built into CarbonROM, didn't work
-Hotspot would turn on, but would get terrible speeds
-Person would connect, but would not be able to use the Internet through the hotspot

And that's basically the jist of it. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Curious if anybody can help. I've read and re-read the Hotspot apk Mod forum over and over again and am having problems making it work on my LG G2. I downloaded the mod and backed up the old files to sd card in root browser. Cahnged file names, copied back to system and rebooted. When I go into the hotspot and try to turn it on I get message Unfourtunately com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui has stopped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this
