I have just one question because this is my first tablet. Is it normal that when Im holding the tablet then on the backside I can quite easily push the back so it bends the plastic cover a little bit inside? :confused: I know it is not from metal but...

Had read online that some Z1 has different quality when unlocked bootloader due to drm or bionz.. Anyone care to share? As I'm still on the verge whether or not to unlocked bootloader..

Just picked up a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to use as a hiqh quality audio player on the run with my headphones. This was the result of some heavy research and a few posts of praise by Supercurio himself:

So, now that hardware seem to be top notch I don't want to mess up the software part. :silly:

1. Will flashing a non-stock ROM mess up the "Dac Direct" configuration?
2. Any recommended ROM with full focus on audio quality through headphones?
3. Or will actually any AOSP KitKat ROM be able to deliver maximum audio quality?

I don't care about effects. Just want as good audio quality through the headphone jack as possible. I will most likely install the "maximum volume mod" (found in the forum) and Viper4Android on any rom used.

[Q] Sound quality on AOSP topic

I've read somewhere that AOSP offers worse sound quality than Sammy ROMs.

Something about AOSP not having access to Samsung drivers, which is the general argument people give for camera quality comparisons as well. The sound chip is from Wolfson, not Samsung though, so wouldn't that mean the sound would remain the same?

My question is not about the volume being low, or using equalizers, but on overall audio quality and fidelity when listening to music (eg.). Is there an audible difference between the ROMs or do they play back the same?

Tested on Sony Xperia L (C2105) on latest 15.3.A.1.14, not sure if it is working on other devices. Try it at your own risk.
You just need to have rooted your device, and add some lines to ''build.prop''. Located in ''/system''.
I recommend you to use ''Root Explorer''.

What are some of the best front facing cameras on android phones?

I can't seem to find any real comparison, they're mostly rear comparisons.

I don't really care about the mega pixel count since that doesn't really mean good quality.

[Q] Camera Quality on the Note 3 topic

I'm coming from a Nexus 5 which was by no means an excellent camera but significantly better than the Note 3. I mean, this Note 3 camera is absolutely atrocious. Terrible quality, blurry, takes a long time to take the pic, etc. I've tinkered around with the settings, to no avail. Is there any sort of fix for the camera? Perhaps a replacement camera APK that performs semi-decently. As I said, the Nexus 5 wasn't great but even in HDR mode it's quicker than my Note 3 to take a shot, and the quality on the Note 3 is quite abominable. I'm running slim kat 4.4.2

Audio Quality topic

Having some issues regarding audio quality. over 92% of my phone's use goes to listening to music through headphones. ALL my past phones have all been HTC running PowerAmp and i have been happy. Unfortunately the audio quality in my Samsung is whack. i changed my mixer settings to get it to be a bit louder at least but when it comes to applying any sort of EQ, the quality is severely damaged. I can't really touch the PowerAmp EQ without bass distortion. i Also tried applying the MusicFX tweak but that only worked once upon enabling. Disabling broke it. and it didn't really work great anyway.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a mod for KitKat that is worth checking out?

I have a full LTE signal on my note 3 tethered to pro 12.2 and it seems the quality onthe youtube is not that HD compare using the ordinary wifi.

LG G2 D802 - Call quality - Speaker topic

I purchased a LG G2 D802 and have noticed that the ear piece when in a call is terrible quality, tinny and distant.. A huge disappointment. I wondered if this was common or if there was anything I could do. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

[Q] Now Low Quality Video Recording?! topic

I have been rooted and using the Galaxy S2 for a couple of years now and any rom that is above 4.1.2 (higher than any stock roms for the phone) doesn't have a working camera for low quality video recording.

Let me explain more:
I haven't been able to film a low quality video for mms for about a year and a half, furthermore other apps that rely on low quality video don't work (like snapchat). I'm wondering why this has never been fixed, or if there is a way to fix this problem because it's very frustrating.

Do you like the quality of the display? topic

I would like to know peoples opinions on the quality of the display. I myself am kind of put off by the "noise" or grainines of the display, also I have noticed some ghosting on the display. For example if the background is white and there are darker shapes after I scroll up or down I can still see some of that shape for a few seconds then it turns with like the background.

Z1 call quality topic

Not happy with the call quality, outgoing mic, on my 6902 on AT&T. It's quite garbled. Is this a case of the phone not getting LTE or is this the case with all Z1's. Is there a setting I'm missing? TIA. Btw I can hear fine on my end.

[Q] Sprint Moto-x call quality? topic

I recently picked up a Sprint moto-x from amazon. Love the phone, but the call quality was just terrible. I experienced a persistent hissing sound whenever the other party spoke, as well as noticeable delay between speaking, and being heard at the other end. This is in contrast to my old Galaxy S2, which performs flawlessly in the same area (Chicago IL). I ended up returning the phone after two days. I am now considering purchasing another unit, just to confirm it was not a defect in the hardware. Has anybody experienced similar issues? Are there any solutions to this problem?

Voice commands produce prompt to: Download high quality voice file topic

The prompt message is:

A high quality voice file will be downloaded for the English (United States) language. To hear a high quality TTS voice, download a high quality voice file.

Upon clicking OK, I'm redirected to the Samsung store.

The thing is, to circumvent this, I've installed Google TTS engine. So I'm no longer using the Samsung's one. So why am I still being harassed to update the voice file for Samsung's TTS engine?

Update: I turned on Talkback, tried again, turned it off, and now... it sort of works. When I say "call home" it no longer echos "Calling home..." but just calls. Same for "Open Gmail". Right at the start it'd say "Calling home..." and "Opening Gmail..." before getting interrupted by the prompt. How do I get it to the original state but without the prompt?
