[Q] System Status is Official But Current Binary is Custom topic

I'm going to trade in my S4 so I can jump to a Note 3, I'm almost completely back to stock but one thing is holding me up. I have the stock Android recovery, stock firmware (Touchwiz Android 4.3), but I'm rooted and my phone says that the system status is official but the current binary says custom. How can I get it to say official?

Hello.

I've bought a new Chinese Clone of the Lenovo A850 (called A850c)

I want to change the ROM but I cannot find any compatible one.

Do you think it is a good idea to grab an existing ROM and port it to my specs?
What are the most important conditions I need to choose the most "compatible" ROM? (cpu, build version, kernel, etc?)

Or better, if possible, how can I search for compatible ROMs not using the brand/model but the specs instead?

[Q] CM 10.2 Charging Current? topic

Hey,

I am running CM 10.2 on my VZW S4. I have noticed though that even with the stock chargers and cables it only charges at 800ma. Is this normal? I thought it could charge much faster than that. Thanks.

Need advice. Sell current broken phone or replace screen? topic

My GS4's screen cracked. Digitizer works. It seems like repairing just the glass is very difficult. You can lose touch or have all sorts of problem. Super cheap to repair but dangerous. So, should I just get the digitizer plus screen which is much easier to put on but costs 200 or sell the phone and pay about 200 more for a Nexus 5? Do you think I can get at least 150-200 for this phone? And where? I took really good care of it. Just one stupid fall from a short distance and it broke. My Inspire was so much tougher than this thing.

Current state of AT&T bootloader? topic

My partner is looking at getting a new phone, and we are looking around at different models. We want one that we will be able to upgrade and flash custom ROMs on for obvious reasons. For the AT&T model, what's the status of the bootloader? I have read that someone had an unlock method a few months ago, but I've also read that new models have an update that breaks that method. Also I have read that there is a safestrap method to install custom ROMs without having to unlock the bootloader.

Can someone summarize the status of the above for me? We would be buying a new one from AT&T. Would we be able to unlock the bootloader, or use safestrap?

[Q] Battery charging current topic

Galaxy S4 (i9505) with CM 11.0 (last nightly) and ChronicKernel. The AC adapter is the original Samsung one with the original cable, the battery is the original one as well (2600 mAh).

Is this normal (see attached screenshot)?
Last night it took almost 7h hours to go from 0% to 80% (phone on, screen off, network on, data connection off, WiFi on).

[Q] Linux or Current Android Version on DX 2? topic

I have an old DX2 that no longer has the VZW carrier plan as I switched to Nexus 5. I have returned the DX2 to factory image (now GB), and am curious about using it as a Wifi only portable device, retaining touchscreen capabilities as there is no hard keyboard.

What is the latest functional true image ROM that can be successfully flashed to it (i.e., Honeycomb, ICS, JB, etc.), and not being a look-alike?

Has anyone successfully flashed a true Linux image to a DX2 (that has touchscreen support), and not a "live" version? In other words wiping the factory image for Linux?

[Help] Current Methods of Converting Arm to Hex? topic

Hello, I've been learning a lot from you guys. Thanks for putting up so much information.

I would like to know what are your current methods of converting Arm to Hex? So that we can replace the codes correctly once we have located them using IDA Pro.

I do not know if any of you still use this, but I've found a program called Arm_Asm Converter. The program does not work. The converter .exe file does not give any results. When I try running the "4 bytes.bat" manually after putting codes in the "test.txt", it gives:

I tried searching but it you do not mention this program on this forums? Do you have other ways to convert the code?

What do you like/dislike about your current ROM? topic

I've been switching around between a few different ROMs lately, trying to find one with a combination of features that I like enough to outweigh the features that it's missing.

So, what ROM are you using right now and what features do you enjoy most about it? What do you miss from previous ROMs that you wish your current ROM had?

The purpose of this question is partially curiosity and partially me asking for help to make up my mind on what ROM would best serve my interests.

I'm currently running CM11 (1/21 nightly). I love all the features of KitKat 4.4, the look, the status bar, Google Now being present on every page, print from phone integration. I miss some TouchWiz features like the Spen functionality/integration and apps (though there are sufficient substitutes), dock audio, swipe to call/text.

So what's your input?
