Unlocked bootloader and DRM keys. topic

1)Does anyone knows if the DRM keys are erased when the bootloader is unlocked?
2)Are they restored when we re-lock the bootloader?
3)Can we backup the keys before unlocking?

hello upgraded to the latest version of slimsaber and is experiencing a problem. when you are playing, for example candy crush, temple run, the return button and also the volume button does not work. I tested these 2 games. also tested the beanstalk and the same problem occurred these two keys do not work. this happened to anyone else? is it some setting?

Soft keys topic

Could someone upload or post link to the soft keys apk. I've deleted something or changed build prop or something and have lost my soft keys. I've got LMT launcher working and gravity box pie available but would like to have the soft keys just in case one of the pies fails. Thanks.

so, my front soft keys somehow disappeared, and I cant get them back; in the settings menu, there is no longer an option for them, and I have no clue how they went away...
any suggestions?

I uninstalled xposed framework, and gravity box, in case that was the issue,and have rebooted many times, but still not there..

Can I add a Mag Glass Search to my Moto X Soft Keys? topic

I have an unlocked rooted VZ Dev Ed with Xposed and Gravity Box and Ultimate Nav Bar module. But I still can't figure out how to add a magnifying glass to my stock soft keys. Ultimate Nav Bar only seems to give me yet another Nav Bar that pops up when I press the trigger but doesn't replace my existing soft keys. Maybe I'm not setting up Ultimate Nav Bar correctly?


I like having persistent softkeys or at least ones that are easily accessible with a swipe up. (Although swiping up from the bottom seems to trigger Google Now so I set Ultimate Nav bar to be triggered by a press on the right instead of a swipe.)

I prefer the stock softkeys to Ultimate Nav Bar anyway. I did add the three dots menu to my stock softkeys but I would also like to add the magnifying glass for search. Is this possible? If not, how do I completely replace the stock softkeys with Ultimate Navbar?

[Q] Custom ROM with soft keys rotation topic

Hi there,

I have tried Cyanogenmod and haven't been able to rotate the soft keys into landscape mode (they stick to the same place as portrait). With this, even in expanded desktop mode, many apps are not in full screen. So is there a custom ROM which allows the rotation, just like the stock rom does? Or any app perhaps.

Workaround for HTC desire for flashing with broken volume keys topic

So i decided to make this small tutorial if you have broken volume keys and are a cheap felow like me. This way you will always have a way out
Trust me do this before its too late (if you end up in bootloop etc.)

Requierments:
-root
-custom rom any will do

So lets get started...

First thing install a touch recovery.

I use twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1791371

Install it the way that the dev says and be sure to set up fastboot and adb on your pc i use Minimal and adb fastboot (google it) and drivers

Next...install any rom with root acces.....

Next install an app called quick boot from play store (that way you can choose to boot into bootloader, fastboot and recovery without pressing volume down + power)

So now you can do everything via touch...but you ask how do you go to recovery if you are in a boot loop or stuck on the starting screen?

Just turn off your phone then turn it on while pluged in to usb on pc with the power + back button and it will take you directly to fastboot

From fastbootType in on your cmd : fastboot boot (recovery image) in my case

* fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-bravo.img

and it will take you to recovery where you can reflash anything.




Hope it helps someone who is cheap like me but i recomend you fix the volume buttons to skip all the hassle, in my case it is not worth the money.

[Q] importance of DRM keys topic

hi, i am totally new to rooting. my phone is sony Xperia Mk16i with rooting status - Bootloader unlock status: Yes. the ROM is factory installed 2.3.4.
i was checking this forum and noticed the test point method of rooting which allows to maintain the DRM keys. i do not purchase any songs or videos online neither do i use the trackID app of my phone. is there any other reason to save the DRM keys other than the ones mentioned?

i noticed a thread in another forum where someone was complaining about not being able to use camera after rooting without saving the DRM keys.

i would also like to know if there is any method of rooting the phone without unlocking the bootloader. the main reason i want to root my phone is to increase its internal memory and be able to use the USB OTG option in my phone which is locked.

i am trying this after expiry of the warranty period and seriously can't afford to brick my phone.
any help or answers will be much appreciated.
