i had updated to the latest stock firmware with 97mb update that came from ota...it was too much laggy so i installed gennxt rom ..still it lags too much what to do please help tried custom kernal also...please suggest me some other rom which is stasble not the kitkat ones as they are not stable yet and dont have dual simm....please help urgent.......!!??:confused::(

[Q] How to install stock recovery for Grand 2 topic

Hi All,

I tried to root my Grand 2 via Odin mode, but it will soft brick my phone.

So installed Balliboxer pre rooted rom, Rom is working fine but there is no recovery in my phone.

When i pressed Vol up + Home + power its going to odin mode and restart the phone. I am unable to go to recovery mode. Now there is no recovery in my mobile.

Please guide me how to install stock recovery atleast in my grand 2.

Bought the phone recently. Have to say that there are some good and some not so good things related to it. Camera video looks great, even focus is not working fast, when focused the image on video looks great, crisp, sharp. On voice call via Skype there seems to be some voice change, others are telling me that my voice is different, so I checked at Echo call, yes that is the fact. Phone is okay, working good for that price, but battery percentage is getting low in short time period. It may be related to the Intel Atom processor, even in many reviews it was written that this processor is not so bad for battery. I tried to find some applications which may manage CPU usage better and may manage CPU not to press battery, but looks that almost all of those applications are working just in root mode.

I did not root any phone before, did not have any reason, now the reason is clear - have to do it.

Tried using Kingo Root and SRS Root from Windows XP laptop.

Far from that. Not so easy. First - issues related to the USB connection. I put drivers, but modes are different, got messages that I need drivers for MTP, so I found and installed them - Media Transfer Protocol Porting Kit. Later I installed Media Player 11. Somehow it fixed part of the problem. But, when I went to developer USB mode, I got another messages.

I installed ADB (there was some GUI application), did seem correct.

Then Kingo Root (at Windows XP). It made connection, it started to work. Unfortunately, it started to restart the device many times, and finally it shows messages - needadb or needroot. Tried multiple times, same errors.

Also, SRS Root (Windows XP). It starts, shows some errors, related to some missing file in some folder, then on ZTE Grand X IN, I saw message to choose Superuser (or two other options) and there was only aragorn. I may choose only aragorn, so I did it, then I got error message about failure, problem with aragorn, so I have to choose other, which is not there. Tried many times, same errors.

I have to say that error messages I got from SRS Root I was not able to find on any discussion forum.

Anybody has exact and clear procedure for rooting of this device? Thank you.

Hey guys as we all know that currently Moto G is the best phone in its range :) So i hope it gets a good dev. support too :D

I see that the Galaxy Grand2 & Xperia M2 have the same chipset as Moto G . The Qualcomm MSM8226 powers all of them !

Out of curiosity, wanna know that can the Moto G get the stock Rom of these devices ported on it .
Is that possible ?

Gys I have no idea what happened to my grand today ..I was reverting back to stock rom using Odin and I had done this many times before but this time while I was flashing my phone using odin it disconnected and the phone not booting or entering to download mode not even charging:crying:

How to swap between External Sd card and Internal Storage in Grand? topic

Guys any tutorial or trick to make SD card the internal sd storage ?

I cannot manage all the games and apps in only 4 GB internal sd space given .

Moreover There are some problem in having internal sd (4 GB) . Like all the app backsup in that 4 GB space only which is not possible . Like whatsapp and moreover cwm also makes backup in that 4 gb space n which is not good in case someday I brick my phone etc etc.

So I want to swap between internal sd and external sd card . If anyone knows how to do it then please comment. :)

[Q] Galaxy Grand Duos update to 4.2.2 differences topic

Hi,

I updated the Samsung firmware/software (or whatever it's called) today from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 Kernel 3.0.31-2212686.

I have noticed a couple of niggling little differences in the operation of my phone and am wondering how to change these back to the way they were BEFORE I updated.

1) When typing my PIN code on the lock screen, the phone vibrates. It never used to. How do I change it back?

2) When I receive a text message, I now get a preview of the message on my lock screen. I never used to get those either. How do I change it back?

Any help would be much appreciated.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Grand OS Running on Sony Xperia Z topic

hi! everyone.

I have a friend who just bought Xperia Z.
He is just crazy about getting the Samsung Galaxy Grand OS on it.
I guess I probably need Samsung Galaxy Grand OS running on Sony Xperia Z.

I have told him that Sony Xperia Z is superior to Samsung Galaxy Grand OS in terms of security and user interface and features. But, He is kinda fallen in love with the Samsung Galaxy Grand Interface.

Is it possible to put an original ROM from Samsung Galaxy Grand OS.

I guess I would first need to root Sony Xperia Z and then probably take a Nandroid backup and probably put a custom boot loader in case something goes wrong I can bring it back.

Here's some details about the OS on Xperia Z.

Model Number C6602; Android Version 4.3, Kernel Version 3.4.0-g1b44cd5; Build Number 10.4.B.0.569

How to Root Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 SM-G7102 topic

Procedure:

Step 1. Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your PC, if already installed then Skip to next step.

Step 2. Download and extract CF-AutoRoot Kit (chainfire). After extracting you will get CF-AutoRoot.tar.md5 (rename it to CF-AutoRoot.tar) and Odin.

Step 3. Open Odin.

Step 4. Turn off your Galaxy Grand 2.

Step 5. Turn it on in download mode by pressing Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button at the same time, dont leave the buttons until a Warning screen appears, then leave all buttons and press Volume Up button to Continue into download mode.

Step 6. Connect your device to PC via USB Cable.

Step 7. Added! message will be shown in message box of Odin. That means your device is connected properly.

Step 8. Now click PDA and choose that CF-AutoRoot.tar file where you extracted in Step#2.

Step 9. Then click START button. Your phone will be rooted and restarted. SuperSU app will be installed automatically during this process, you can check it in Menu.

Help running Grand Theft Auto Vice City topic

Good night to all folks in these forums. This is my first post here (but been lurking around since last year). The problem I have is presented shortly.
On the stock Rom I am (Touchwiz, 4.1.1), I can play GTA VC (among other applications) at full speed, as if I was running the PS2 or PC version of GTA.
The problem is, when flashing to an AOSP ROM with Kit Kat, suddenly the game becomes stuttered. It happens while driving and in cutscenes. If resolution is not all the way up, even cutscenes turn unviewable. Turning resolution all the way up only manages to get the gameplay stuttered. I've tried every major ROM out there (Omnirom, PA, CM, AOKP), but to no result. Funny thing, I can play GTA 3 and San Andreas like a champ, except for Vice City.
