[Q] Update download failing topic

Hello,
I've just started using this phone as my old one died on me and someone gave me this one secondhand.
It seems to have an update available but I can't get it!
If I'm on mobile data only it keeps telling me I have to use Wifi to download it which is annoying as I have unlimited data but there you go.
I've tried on 3 different peoples Wifi and every time it will get to somewhere between 5% and 30% and then error with a message that it can't update and a code of 801881d0.
Very frustrating!
I don't suppose there's any way round this ? If only I oculd download it on my PC and apply it or something but I've read that's not possible.....
Any ideas ?

[Q] Txt message sending failing after 4.4 upgrade. topic

I have a VZW GS3 and no matter what kit kat rom that I try to upgrade to from JB 4.3 I have the same problem with my texting app.
I can receive multiple text messages but I can only respond once to them. When I try to respond to the same message twice or to another message for the 1st time I get the error message that my message has not been sent. It doesn't matter what 4.4 rom I try I get the same error. However if I activate airplane mode and then de-activate it I am able to send ONE reply to ONE message. If i want to reply to any other messages I have to either reboot the phone or do the airplane mode routine that I just described. It is not a problem on any rom below 4.4. In fact I've had to go back to using a 4.3 rom so i can use my text messaging. I doesn't matter whether I use a stock messaging app or a third part app it even has the same problem when I use Google Hangouts. It doesn't affect my email and every other program in 4.4 works correctly.
Is this a radio problem. Why does it temporarily fix the problem by doing the airplane mode routine. Has anyone ever heard of this problem before,
My baseband Version is I535VRBMF1. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have been away from the forums for about 6 months. I'm on clean rom I believe. I want to upgrade but it keeps failing on new roms. What am I missing? I tried to read up but I'm learning disabled and can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Here is a picture of my phone info.

Flashing in ODIN failing when going back to stock topic

I am attempting to flash my phone back to stock using these directions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2586319

When I boot the phone normally, I get the Verizon warning about non-Verizon software. I am able to go to Download mode just fine. I have tried both the ODIN (I've tried JODIN as well) and VZW utility methods and neither is working. I have successfully re-partitioned using the PIT in the link, but the actual tar ball fails. Here is what I get in ODIN 3.07:

Custom ROMS Failing topic

Hi guys

I just got dual recovery installed on my Xperia Tablet Z SGP321 XZDualRecovery - TWRP/PhilZ
Specs - Android 4.2.2, Rooted with vroot

Tablet Ready For Custom ROMS? I don't think so...

I downloaded a few custom ROMS for my tablet
Placed it on my sdcard, booted into recovery, wiped and install and FAIL, with 4 Roms i've already tried, I'm out of options

People any ideas? Am I missing a step?

Keeps failing to download films saying it can't connect to network and retry when sorted.

Failing to Flash ROM. (Status errors) topic

So here I am again, after a while.
Have changed like hundred of ROMs about year ago on Galaxy S III and Galaxy S II, it was still time when newest android version was 4.1.2 i think.

So now i have a problem, big one. I bought Galaxy S II again, and wanted to flash new rom, because version that i had was 4.1.2.
It was horrible, i effd up my phone big time and flashed stock rom trough Odin, now its 4.0.3. It's old like my granny, but it's very fast. I'm spending like only 38% of my RAM.

But still i wanted to change ROM, and put on the new 4.4.2, but only that kind which don't takes more than 50% of ram.

Adding Screenie, so you can check out what kernel am I using.



using as stock rom - I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXALPQ_I9100XXLPQ_HOME.tar.md5 (file name)
and as root - CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5 (file name)

I Have tried to flash any of the ROMs trough CMW recovery with the kernel i have now, but still i got Failed to install update. Some kind of e:emmc (Status 7 error), i tried to fix it, fixed. But now I had Status 6 error. It seems that i can't open the update (ROM).

So i'm asking for help. Maybe some1, could give me the right ROM, right KERNEL and RECOVERY. and step-by-step guide to avoid those errors and fails.

I'm sorry if i'm posting new thread, but i can't really find and answer to my question and problem. I would be greatful if someone could just help me and guide trough this problem, if not here, then maybe in PM.

OTA Update Failing on Rooted xt926 topic

Hi everyone, new guy here.

I'm rooted and currently running 9.18.79 with Verizon. I'm trying to install the 9.18.94 OTA update, but it fails everytime. After I select "Install Now" it reboots and starts to install, but then I get the Android robot on its back with the red triangle. The phone then reboots again and I get a message that says the software update failed. What's the secret to updating when rooted (while also making sure to still have root access afterward)?

Menu Button Failing topic

So, if you were following my other thread (which I doubt anyone was since no-one offered help), I managed to fix my incredibly hard soft brick :P

Everything's running great now, except the menu key isn't functioning. This would be fine, except the 3dot menu xposed module is causing other problems when installed and I'm not running a CM ROM so I can't simply make it double press the home button for menu or anything like that.

So I actually need to get the menu button working, not find an alternative. I can't seem to find the number of the button tho. I know you can check with CWM but I don't have it and don't want to risk stuffing up my phone again right now because I will be relying on it pretty heavily for the next week or so. How can I remap the menu button so it can be used as the menu button if I don't know the hard key number? International S4 Active, thanks.
