Pattern lock wipe after 10 failed attempts disable? topic

So I'm used to the asop lock screen in which I can have a pattern lock on it to keep my friends from messing with my phone. With this one it just means they're going to try 11 times and wipe my phone.

Or if my cousins kids grab it and want to use the pattern lock as a game it will get wiped. (seriously anything like that is a game for a 5 year old).

I'm amazed they still didn't add a way too sense to disable that bit of the lock screen. I just want a password. I don't want it to wipe itself at all...

/frustrating

Is there a super ultra wipe flashable script? topic

My phone's software/kernel/partition (or something like that) is so messed up that my battery life sucks on all roms (even on roms I changed back to after receiving the problem that never had the problem), my phone seems to overheat, and reboots/freezes all the time. Battery stats says nothing really. My battery life is like TWO to THREE times LESS than before I flashed a bunch of ROM and kernels.

So basically I need something flashable that:

- Wipe all RE-BUILDABLE partitions COMPLETELY (and then rebuilds them) and/or gives cleans all partitions
- Formats and cleans everything on the phone (in a way it doesn't break any default features of the phone)
- Fixes any kernel bugs/glitches that retain after flashing
- Fixes all modem issues (like that flashable modem fix I saw but incorporated with everything above)
- Sets everything to default settings
- COMPLETELY and SAFELY removes Wanam and XPOSED framework out of the phone (I think it is causing me problems)

Basically, I think I broke something and want to completely fix the issue, so I can SUPER clean flash a KitKat rom and not have uncommon issues that the ROM does not have (I'm currently on 4.3)

[Q] S4 Powers off after android splash screen - any options other than factory wipe? topic

Or at least i think its powering off - i punch in my encryption passcode, it goes to android splash screen, then zip...

I have been looking at other threads and searching (this forum is huge!) but not yet found an answer, certainly not one where i dont factory wipe.

The phone was on the official optus 4.3 firmware

What i did was I used Odin 1.85, and the appropriate CF auto-root from here (cant link yet, not enough posts)

Powered off the thing, took battery out for over an hour, twice, still the same

Just trying to re-root the phone so i can back it up again, it had been a while since using Titanium

Follow the typical instructions, seemed to go fine, it just gives me the green android screen for about two seconds after encryption key is put in and always goes off

I wiped the cache too, and i flashed the current firmware again using odin (Aus OPTUS 4.3 official) - still the same.

Anyone got any ideas for me>?

[Q] HELP - Wipe all when not backup yet - Have no ROM in phone topic

I uesd the [TOOL] [12.27.13] WinDroid HTC One S Toolkit v2.0 | Unlock | Root | Flash | S-OFF | to root my HTC ONE S.

Step 1 & 2 was ok. Unlock Bootloader & Flash Recover, but I couldn't flash Super User yet.

In Recovery - I wipe all, but not backup yet. (So stupid)

Now:
- Recover - Mount - Mount USB storage - I copied the "cm-11-20140129-NIGHTLY-ville" 187MB to my phone
- But It can't Install this ROM. Fail - no MD5 file found.

How can I flash a new ROM for my phone ? Is it something wrong ?

Please help me a ROM or how can I Flash ROM for my phone.

Thank you so much :(
(sorry bc my English not good)

[Q] No OS and internal storage wipe topic

Hey guys,

I recently tried to install another ROM ( Android Rev 4.10 ) on my HTC One. After installing it I wiped all the internal storage the phone had ( including the rom .zip ). I tried to reboot into system but no matter how much I tried it always reboots into recovery, not system ( although I tap - reboot to system - ).

I think the problem is that I used an old TWRP recovery ( 2.6.0.1 ) for flashing the room ( it is advised that I should have used TWRP 2.6.3.3. for flashing that ROM ) so the OS is now broken and it wont boot into it.

The phone isn't recognized by my PC while in recovery ( and I cant boot into system ) and I cant find it in device manager so I can install the drivers. Curenttly I have acces to the custom recovery ( TWRP 2.6.0.1 ) and the bootloader.

So :
-Can't boot into system ( OS broken )
-No files on internal storage
-No drivers and I cant install them as the phone doesnt show up in device manager
-The phone always boots in recovery mode

Is there anything I can do ?

Bootloader :

*** Tampered ***
*** Unlocked ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.54.0000
Radio-4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-2.24.401.1
eMMC - boot 2048MB

FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE

Much apreciated guys.

Root without Wipe topic

Is there a way to root my Nexus 5 without wiping the entire device? I've been looking around and all roads lead to unlocking the boot loader with adb, which wipes the device.

I remember on my GS2 & GS3 I could insert root into stock with just a couple of files, no flashing or adb.

Any help is appreciated.

[CWM][Script]Precious Wipe Cleaner for KK 4.4.2 ROMs...and maybe all versions ;) topic

Hi,

last day i encountered FCs while ticking "Developer Options" in Settings on one KitKat rom i test in 2nd rom.

i look into /data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/ and delete some xml files and reboot , then i see no FC at all.

so i made an aroma flasher to clean and wipe some folders in /data/ partition and some xml files in some /data/data/......APP......../shared_prefs/ sub-folders.

Code:

checkbox(
        "com.android.settings menu",
        "choice :",
        "@default",
        "remove1.prop",

"tick what you need to wipe or delete","",2,

        "All xmls","All xmls files in data-data-com.android.settings-shared_prefs folder",0,
        "Total Wipe","Wipe totaly data-data-com.android.settings folder",0
);
checkbox(

        "All xmls","All xmls files in data-data-com.android.systemui-shared_prefs folder",0,
        "Total Wipe","Wipe totaly data-data-com.android.systemui folder",0
);
checkbox(
        "selective wipe tool cleaner",
        "choice :",
        "@default",
        "wipe.prop",
