Soft bricked phone even after factory image flash topic

Hi all, I am in urgent need of some help...

I got my GS4 when it first came out back in May. It was the VRUAMDK build. I used ODIN and motochopper to get it rooted, eventually got CM going and have been using it ever since.

Today I was playing around flashing different nightlies of CM11. I went to restore from a backup, but it error'd out and said it couldn't restore /data. I rebooted anyway and it hung on the CM logo for about 10 minutes. I tried a wipe/restore again and the same thing happened. I should note that since updating to CWM 6.x.x.x from (I think?) 2.x.x.x I hadn't attempted a restore from backup, but I know that restore worked on CWM 2.

Followed the instructions, similar to when I first rooted my phone, and flashed the 99% factory image with Odin. It "worked" ie no errors but upon reboot my phone hangs on the Verizon logo. It gets through the Samsung boot logo but will just sit at the Verizon logo. Not frozen because the logo is shimmering.

At this point I have no idea what to do. Help?

Asking for help on the forums is usually my last result, I can assure you. I've been at it all day now and I keep coming across the same answers and the same n/a issues.

I'm going to make this as easy as possible with the hope that some one out there will be able to help me. Because I hit my data limit and I can't even download a simple app from the Google Play Store.

My Problem: Wifi will not toggle on

My Phone (The current state of the status bar makes me cringe as well. I literally JUST got done with a factory reset)


A quick run through
1. The phone was running 4.3 when I bought it. (wifi worked)
2. I decided to root using CF-Auto Root (wifi worked)
3. I updated to 4.4.2 using the Samsung Kies (breaking my root of course)
4. I re-rooted with CF-Auto Root and flashed the latest TWRP
5. A few days later, I turned on WiFi for the first time and it instantly switched itself back off.

I'm positive I flashed all the correct stuff. I do my research before voiding my warrenty.
(for 4.4.2, I flashed the latest CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 with Odin v3.09. Afterwards, openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-jfltetmo.tar)



Solutions I've tried:
-Reboot
-Took out the battery
-a few other little modifications I did in root explorer
-Factory reset

If you've any questions about what I've done or any suggestions for things to try, please let me know. I would like to avoid flashing a custom ROM for the time being.

Why you think google didn't put a facts slot within the Nexus 5? and the reason why didn't they execute a cool presentation from it like Samsung would the Be aware 3? Don't you believe times get changed much with folks uploaded films etc... onto their mobile phones that principle internal storage must be 64GB.

i've seen on the original thread that there's some sort of gps config? can anyone help?

apart from this and some occasional crashes, this ROM is by far the best thing that happened to my One X, i can report mobile data internet performance is much better than the original sense rom. Many thanks to all involved in this, top kudos :)

Can't escape encryption even after flashing stock with Odin topic

Hi,

I have a galaxy note 3 from Ireland, and I wanted to root it so I followed the instructions I found online. However, when it booted back in after ODIN it still askd me for the encryption pin. If I entered it the phone screen just went black.

So I downloaded the firmware and flashed that with ODIN, and even though it seems to flash successfully it still prompts me for the encrpytion pin. I know the pin, but it just goes to a blank screen.

Can anyone help me with this? I don't care if I lose my files, I just want to get the phone working again!

Does anything like this even exist? RE: Bluetooth... topic

So I have a brand new Toyota Camry 2014. It has a bluetooth setup where it streams music from my devices (Nexus 5, Ipod Touch 4, etc.) Now, the bluetooth setup is not the top of the line deal. For personal reasons, I didn't feel it warranted an extra k+ for iRadio and such.

Now, it does do things like display the name of artist, song etc when I stream from Google Play, Pandora, etc.

So I was wondering, are there any programs/hacks or whatever other terminology might fit in here that would benefit from connecting from my Nexus 5 to the bluetooth in my car? For example, is there a way to stream the bluetooth from my phone to the car where it displays something like Waze on the in dash bluetooth screen? I don't know if I am explaining this right, I hope I am. I don't even know what to refer to this as?

If there is a term, or phrase or whatever to look into this scene as, can you please explain to me and link me?

Hi,

unfortunately my s4 kissed the ground and the display is broken. Nothing is displayed. The device is encrypted, cm10.2 is installed.

Now I have the question if it is possible to use broken the s4 for something else, maybe a little linux server for hosting owncloud.

Here my questions:

1. Is it possible to install an arm linux on the i9505?

2. If so, is it even possible with a broken display?

3. If so, will it be possible to use the usb port to convert it to an ethernet port?

I've had my phone for almost two years now, and I've never been able to get sound notifications for messages, emails, or anything else during my calls. I've made sure my "Alerts on call" is checked and still nothing... I didn't see any other threads with this problem--only ones that wanted to disable this function. Why is mine so special? :confused:

My status/notification bar is gone. I can't get any notifications. The best I get is a vibration. Holding the home button does nothing anymore. I'm at my wits end with this problem!!!

I'm running CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Stable. I've never had this issue before, and I'm unaware of any apps that could be causing this issue. Unlike the 3 threads above, reflashing the ROM, or SystemUI.APK does nothing to fix this issue. I've tried clearing the cache/dalvik cache, as well as fixing permissions. I've done everything short of a factory reset/Data wipe.... I really don't want to have to do that though...

Any ideas?
